She didn't stay in Willow Wave City for long, the county town already felt very unfamiliar to her.
When she once again got on the bus back to Landon, she made a call to Joe Heath.
"Little Jasmine? Why do you have time to call me today?"
"Are you at home?"
"No, I'm at the cemetery, came to visit my grandparents." Joe Heath sensed something was off in Jasmine Yale's tone.
It was filled with despair, a despair tinged with confusion.
His brows furrowed, a sharp light flickering in his eyes.
"Little Jasmine, what's wrong? You sound upset. Where are you?"
"I went back to my old home for a bit, Willow Wave City."
"You went back home? Why didn't you tell me? That's not okay. Such a far place, if you encountered any bad people, what am I supposed to do? Did you go alone?"
"I'm not a three-year-old child anymore, I came alone." Jasmine Yale looked out the bus window.
"Is it raining in Willow Wave City? It's raining in Landon, quite heavily."
"It is, a light drizzle."
