"Am I really an orphan? Do I not have a single relative left?" Chris Fern still couldn't believe it.
"Yes, I wouldn't lie to you," the doctor said, feeling helpless, having said all that he could.
"I was a doctor before? What should I do now..." A feeling of desolation surged in Chris Fern's heart.
What should he do now?
"Let things take their natural course, don't overthink. Right now, you need to focus on getting your health back. You're still very weak."
Chris Fern cradled his head in pain, thinking that maybe it would have been better not to have woken up at all.
The doctor told him he had been in a car accident, almost losing his life, and that he had been asleep for nearly six months in his hospital bed. When he woke up, he could not remember anything.
"I've brought you some books. If you're bored, you can read. I see you enjoy medical books, and I happen to have quite a few," the doctor said.
"Thank you."
