Chapter 3 - What’s a cats favorite color?

"Hey, Alex, me and Brice were just about to go running," I said.

"Oh okay, cool. I'm going to go hit the showers, good seeing you." Alex said in a hurry.

"What's his deal, I wonder," Brice said.

"Eh, he's just weird like that I guess," I said while taking off my boots and putting on my running shoes. We start at a good pace, a little slow but a good and enjoy the full pace.

~Friday~

Finally the end of the school day. "Hey, still up for running at 4:30? And I'll need to get your address to pick you up." Brice asked.

"Yep. Let me get your phone number and I'll text it to you." I said. I got his number, I know, I know it's amazing, taking a big step here.

I hop off the bus and walk up to the gate. "Hey, Hilda I'm having a guest named Brice Mackey coming by so would you put him in the guest list please?" I asked her. "Sure thing." She replies.

I get home. "Hey mom someone is picking me up at 4:30 and I'm taking Caesar with me okay?" I said. "Alright, but Caesar is at the vet, he ran into a cactus on accident, that silly yet stupid dog." She said then sighed. She's right Caesar is silly yet stupid. But I love that she doesn't wonder who is picking me up or at least doesn't question.

Brice's car pulls up and damn it's a huge freaking big truck. I walk out without Caesar, I open the passenger door and literally have to climb in. "Hey. No dog?" He asked. "He had to go to the vet because he ran into a cactus," I said.

"Really?" He asked.

"Yep."

We pull up to the Betty Virginia park.

We get done running and thankfully we're not sweaty and stinky. "Hey, do you maybe want to go to this party?" He asks. "Um, sure," I say. I'm not much of a go-to parties gal but it might be fun.

We get to the party and there are already a few cars here. It's nice to know Brice is basically my date. He parks my side of the road a little ways from the house so we had to walk a good distance which was fine. We walked up there, open the door, and hear loud music playing. We head to the kitchen and I get a soda while Brice gets a cup and some punch which probably has some alcohol in it. Well, at least I know how to drive.

I've just been talking for an hour or two with my friends.

Then slow music plays and Brice takes my hand, "May I have this dance with you?" He asks, "Yes." I reply with a smile. He puts his hands on my waist well at least he's respectable of my body parts, unlike some guys I've dated. And I put my hands on his neck and we swayed to the music.

Then before I knew it we were actually about to kiss then, we hear sirens! Seriously. Brice quickly grabbed my hand we ran out the back door and thankfully the back yard had no fences and a lot of small trees and bushes. And some of Brice's friends followed us back to the truck, now I see why he parked over to the side. We waited a few moments then Brice quickly started the car and hit the gas pedal and turned off the backlights.

"How about you drop me off home," I said to Brice after a few minutes of driving. "Oh cmon it's only, 9." He said. Which was only nine and my curfew was ten. "Okay fine but I have to get home in about an hour," I say. Man Brice is so cute, and so hard to turn him down, with his brown fluffy like hair, and his crystal blue eyes.

We ended up going to a girl named Macy's house because his parents were on a business trip. He drove me back to my house after we hanged out at Macies for a while.

"Well your just in time for your curfew I was getting worried now," Hilda said (the lady I talked to earlier). "Yep, have a goodnight now."

We pull up at my house. "Want me to walk you the door?" Brice asked. "Sure," I said

He walked me to the door and we kiss, "Goodnight." We said at the same time, then laugh. "Hey want to go to the movies tomorrow night?" He asks. "Sure," I said. He walks to his truck and I give him a wave as I walk through the door. And now to face the mother.

"Hey you're just in time it's 10:00." Mom said as I close the door. "I know I don't usually ask where or who you go with, but spill it." She said. "I went out with a person I knew from school his name is Brice we went running at the part then to a fun party for a few a hours," I said, I know telling the truth to your mom is weird but I owe it to her since she rarely asks so. "Aww is he your boyfriend now?" She asked.

"I guess," I said. "Okay, well go on to bed now." She said. I head to bed but I take a shower and decided to braid my hair, maybe waves will look good. I think about texting Brice but I don't want to seem obsessed, I'll just text him in the morning.

-

I woke up. And Caesar is standing up staring at me right in the face. "Hey boy," I said. While he just bends his head. I get up and feed him. I leave my braids in, and check the clock, 11:48 eh not too late. I pour my self some cereal and decided to check my phone which already has a text from Brice. And shit it was sent an hour ago. I decided to call him, he picks up on the third ring, "Hey sorry I didn't answer, I was... yeah I'm not going to lie, I was still asleep." I said and we both kinda chuckle. "He was thinking we could go early, I could pick you up at 5:30, is that okay?"

"Yeah sure, that sounds great. Bye"

"Bye."

My sister walks in with her hair all messy. "Good morning," I said while putting my dishes in the sinks.

"Eh." She said then yawns. Then I yawn too, yawning is like the Black Plague.

"Mom told me you got a new boyfriend, huh?" She said while nudging with her elbow.

"Yeah. But he's not for you to steal!" I said.

"One freaking time and it was in elementary school! And wasn't my fault and I did reject him!" She says raising her voice. My sister is only two grades ahead of me so she still could've dated him but still, he broke up with me to try to be with her.

"Still..." I mumbled.

"Whatever. Got a picture of him?" She asked.

"No but I'm going to the movies later today, so I'll try to get one," I said.

"Okay. Want to go shopping?" She asked.

"Sure let me go get ready," I said. I go to the bathroom and undo my braids which make my hair nice and wavy. I put on a little makeup and grab my satchel. "Ready?" My sister asked as she got her purse. "Yep."

While walking around I decide to go into the cute little tea store, and nearly well basically bump into Alex. "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry." I said just like a normal reaction. "Sorry, Alex," I said. "It's fine really, at least I wasn't carrying any tea though." He said.

"Yeah and funny meeting you here last time I saw you, you hated tea," I said and still believed that. "Oh yeah, I was just doing some homework. I'm in a hurry, so catch up with ya later?" He said. "Uh-huh," I said. Okay, now I'm getting some creepy feelings from Alex.

Saturday night

I get home from the mall with some books and sketch pads. And it's about 3:00. We also went to get lunch somewhere else so that explains how late it is.

I watch tv to past time but I kept on checking the clock, so I decided to paint my nails and toenails. I painted them a peach color, and I did a pretty good job I must say.

-Finally, time to get ready for the movies-

I ended up putting on some black skinny jeans and a black top that has gold patterns. And I put on a little more makeup than usual but nothing too flashy.

*Ding-Dong*

Seriously my sister gets it before I do, ugh, hope she doesn't make a big deal.

"Hey you must be Brice, I'm Lori, Bea's older sister." She said to him, why does she have to talk? I walk up to the door, "Hey, I see you met Lori."

"Yep. You ready?" He asked.

"Yeah." I said while trying to walk out the door but, "You two have fun, but not too much fun." She said while smiling. "Mmhm," I said, while now walking out the door. "Bye now," I said closing the door. "So what are we going to go see?"

"It's a surprise. I've already got the tickets."

"What. Did you take me to see Parasite? This movie is supposed to be super scary."

"Yep, but I heard some people laughed at some point."

"It was nervous laughter," I said

"You might like it, plus you have me to hang onto."

"And that is why guys like to take girls to scary movies," I said while we walk through the movie theaters doors. We got a tub of popcorn and a large coke.

I ended up jumping or clinging onto Brice when something creepy showed, which was like every other scene. Finally, the movies were over and it was about, 8:00.

"Never again. That movie was way too scary." I said as we walked to his huge truck.

We get to my house. And we kissed goodnight. I walked through the door to see Lori watching the news. "Hey come sit down a listen." She aids, and I do so and watch the TV:

"Just reported a 27 year old woman, Harper Grace, missing she's been gone for quite some time and just now police are calling her in death, but no body was found.

They found she was a part of two rival gangs, the police are guessing that did not end well for her. They could only trace her disappearance to the gang, The Pythons and their Chief, who can not be found. And she's suspected as a daughter of the Wildebeest King. For those not familiar, the Wildebeest gang has been at so called war with the gang The Pythons.

That is all for now the police are now calling it a cold case, and a to dangerous one."

Then finally the news ended. "Can't believe a Chief would first go after a daughter of a King, poor girl, she probably never expected any of this to happen," Lori said. "Yeah..." I mumbled. "I'll tell you about the movies tomorrow," I said as I climb up the stairs.

~

I still can't get that poor girl's story out of my head. I wish I could but I can't believe that kind of stuff, maybe I should talk to Brice about it. But I don't want to go on some hunt for knowledge the case was called a dangerous one.

Maybe I can do something to pass time and get the thought out of my head...

I ended up picking weeds from the garden in the backyard which wasn't a lot. Sundays were always boring since my family doesn't really go to church.

-Finally Monday-
