Yamagata was a different place to Seijo's peculiar atmosphere. The air was more humid and much more weatherly. And in the midst of it, Aichi wakes up.
"Hey, I know you're a laid-back person but we should get up. It seems Senshoku made us breakfast." Raigi woke the two up. "Oh, really?" "Get down stairs, Aichi." "Okay, okay."
*
"Good Morning." She said calmly, brushing her hands on her apron. Senshoku was unlike the emotionless hunter willing to slay anyone who gets in her path. Now, she had this housewife-like atmosphere to her, reminiscent of Seiko. This told Aichi that Senshoku was, in fact, related to the girl he loves.
"Oh, wow. This tastes great. Right, Aichi?"
"…"
"Aichi?"
"Say, Senshoku.." But that doesn't mean he can trust her.
"Yes?"
"Let me ask you again. Why do you want to join us so much?"
"I knew you would ask that." It was like she completely changed. "Well, we have the same goal. That's all."
"I don't think I understand your goal."
"What are you, an interrogation officer?"
"No. I'm just asking how we can trust you."
"Aichi Shirogane. Are you in a relationship with Seichan?"
Raigi and Kinako chew their food in entertainment.
"What does that even have to do with our conversation?"
"Anyway, are you done with your food? How about we take a walk?"
"A walk?"
*
The wind flew past their faces. Trees were shaken. And newspapers flied across the street like tumble weeds. When they arrived here, they did not notice how calm and accepting this place really was.
And then, the walk began. They headed east, towards this city's Gendaishi headquarters. You see, Gendaishi need to be out of public view at all times so almost all cities have their headquarters as normal houses to hide their true identities.
But Yamagata Gendaishi's headquarters was a ruined building. Not quite the comfy place to stay in. No humans were inside. It was all abandoned. "What the hell happened here?"
"Well, long story short, I killed all Gendaishi in Yamagata."
"You.. what!?"
"…"
"What if there was a Mojidori attack? What would you do?"
"There hasn't been one in 2 years."
"W-what?"
"I kill Gendaishi to get the organization's attention. I killed this city's Gendaishi yet they still ignored me, like they didn't even consider about the existence of their subordinates. If your theory of the organization having full control over the phenomenon is true, then this will explain the lack of Mojidori attacks. We know that they ignore this city so that means that they have full control on who transforms and possibly, who reverts."
*
Above a tall building, two people look down on the city. One looks at his watch and signals to the other, "It's almost 11 AM."
3…
2…
1…
There it was, one that was unexpected to happen. A Mojidori had appeared.
*
"You're saying that this is the first attack in 2 years?"
"I-it's supposed to be.."
"Ugh, move out of the way.. I'll handle this.."
"Wait! It's... raining.."
The rain seemed to be the Mojidori's ability. It generated rain in a small area.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
"This is pretty laughable."
"Senshoku, your figure uses water, right?"
"W-what?"
"You take care of it."
"S-sure but.."
"You.. haven't attacked a Mojidori before?"
"I.."
"C'mon.. Just think of it as another Gendaishi so that we get this over with.."
"Hmph.. I dislike you.."
She pulled out her phone and started scrolling through it.
"This is no time to be looking at.. is that BL?"
"Shut up.."
Her wrist began glowing.
"BL.. activates your figure?"
She materialized an umbrella on her hand and opened it, splashing water at Aichi. And off she was. Gliding through the air she flew across the sky until she reached a point right above the Mojidori. She then closed the umbrella and pulled on the handle revealing a sword hidden inside. "Divine Sword of the Storm God.." she pointed the sword downwards as wind begins to blow around her and the rain drops fly around her with so much pressure that they become bullets, "Habakiri!"
She fell straight down, the drops still flying around her. The drops each shred the monster to pieces. Its screams of pain ring through the ears of everyone in the town.
"Did she just use a Hyperbole Strike?"
*
Back at Senshoku residence, everyone is silent. The awkwardness is awkwardly high. But then Aichi breaks the silence.
"You know you could've just hit the cross symbol and the Mojidori would have pulverized itself? There was no need to become a human blender."
"You told me to treat it like a Gendaishi."
"You shred them to pieces?!"
"I kill them with brutality. That way, I would get the organization's attention."
"This is just insane. We're not letting you in."
*
"Hold on, Aichi.." Raigi butted in. "I think you're also at fault here."
"Huh?"
"Senshoku obviously needed comforting but instead you told her to 'get this over with'. I don't think that's how a leader should act."
"I-"
Senshoku commented, " Listen. I know you need to focus on your goal. But try to put importance over the people you lead."
"Yeah. You're trying to be Seiko. But you can't become as goal oriented as she is without becoming subordinate-oriented."
"… T-thanks.."
"You're not the only one who's getting affected by what's happening, right now."
"Yeah. Sorry for acting all weird."
*
"Sorry for earlier, Sensho-"
"Mizu.. Just call me Mizu. No one has called me by my first name in a long time."
"Uh-"
"Aichi.."
"Hey, I haven't given you permission to call me by mine."
"Do you have a relationship with Seichan?"
"Well, I wouldn't call it a relationship."
"I see. Well Aichi, did she choose the right person?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Kokoshi yelled from the other room. "Aichi, I managed to connect to Seiko's receiver!"
"What?!"
*
"I thought that Senshoku had killed all Gendaishi here."
"I thought so too."
"That means that Gendaishi must either be Shirogane or Senshoku."
"There was no fire. That makes it Senshoku."
The person placed his finger on her ear and began reporting. "Mojidori eliminated by Mizu Senshoku. Orders, sir?"
The voice on the other side spoke. "Mark her for assassination. She is not even a registered Gendaishi. Ask for reinforcements to outnumber them, and then mobilize."
"Heh. Roger that, Lieutenant General Jinosuke."
*
Main Gendaishi Headquarters, Tokyo
"Mark her for assassination. She is not even a registered Gendaishi. Ask for reinforcements to outnumber them, and then mobilize." The person who says this begins morphing into a young man.
From the corner of the room, someone slowly claps, Taka Shinsuki. "Great Orders, Sir Jinosuke."
"Oh, please. I'm just a copycat. Ever since you killed the real Dabu Jinosuke, you have been the one telling me what orders to give. You should be the one being called Sir Jinosuke."
"Right. Black Coffee?"
"With Milk. Anyway, are you sure about killing off your childhood friend?"
"I've erased his memories, he doesn't know about me anymore. What's important is the goal."
Knocks tap on the door. And someone walks in. The man turns back into Jinosuke.
"Sir, the recording of your message is ready."
"I see. I will be there at this very moment."
They close the door. He reverts back.
"I'm impressed you're still able to retain this facade for so long, Keiko."
"I've always dreamed of this as a child. Now, the public is waiting for me."
The adventure continues.
