Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Leaves rustled.

A soft breeze can be felt.

The river frippling over the rocks.

A lone figure in blue could be seen standing by the stream. Silver hair with little ornaments on her hair, Blue pearl beads weave together like raindrops that are scattered contrasting that silver hair.

Meanwhile, her attendants dare not disturb her solitary peace. She was their precious princess. Her father the king loved her dearly and spoils her very much. He would gift her priceless objects and give her anything she wants or needs. But despite this their princess was never someone who was materialistic. She always want everything to be simple. That makes their heart ache.

She would smile, laugh, and be merry. But there are times like today she seems so far away. Like she would exclude all beings only her white tiger, Raja, would stay by her side. Perhaps it is because of the matters from the past.

'Princess!' came running a little girl of 10 years of age, charming and bubbly.

Hearing this the attendants couldn't but help glare at the little girl for ruining the princess' peace. But they are also somewhat thankful. For they do not have the courage to do so. They envy the young girl's innocence and lively character. She was not tainted of worldly matters so she was not affected by the current mood the princess was in.

'Yes, Myles?' A soft voice, like a calm water responded.

'Replying to the Princess Azura, your father, the king is looking for you.'

The lone figure turned around revealing an exquisite face. She has the face that could make anyone obey her. But her eyes is the most eye-catching. Deep and endless like an ocean, her eyes are so blue that you might drown in them the more you keep staring.

No matter how many times they look at their mistress' face they would feel lost and overwhelmed, thought the servants.

'Alright. Lead the way then.' Azura replied. She walked with grace fitting for a princess. Though she received lessons on etiquette she was always praised by her instructors telling the king that she no longer need to learn much. Every move she makes speaks of gracefulness.

Following Azura back to the castle, they walked in a procession with Azura at the front while Myles, the little girl, was behind half-step. As they entered the castle, two guards are posted on each side of the door bowed when they saw Azura walked in. Azura nodded in acknowledgment. As they walked further into the castle you could hear streams of water flowing endlessly. As they went deeper another door welcomed them which is the throne room. But this was not their destination. They turned to the east wing towards the king's study room. When they reached the door to the study the king's butler stood outside waiting to announce the princess' arrival.

'My king, the Princess Azura is here.' announced Shin, the butler.

'Mm, let her in.' a voice sounded from the inside.

When the door opened a smile that is full of doting filled face welcomed Azura. No one would have thought that this was their very king who sat unyielding on the throne. But they know in their hearts that their king is just in his own ways that is why they give their utmost to serve.

Her father, king Caspian was already nearing his forties but with his looks are far from it. He looks like in his mid-twenties. They were immortals. He has a chiseled face, a well-defined features with those bright blue eyes lighter than hers. Her father has a clean cut black hair a total opposite from her silver hair. Her dad always says that it's from her mother's. But who knows, she never got to see her mother. There was no picture anywhere. Her only picture is herself, that when she looks at the mirror her father would always say that she is the exact replica of her mother.

'You were looking for me, father?' as she went to her father's side. She had to look up for her father was a tall man. She only reached her father's shoulders.

'Yes, dear daughter. I wanted to talk to you about something.' Caspian led her daughter to sit while he stayed leaning the table. The butler seeing that the father-daughter needed a private space he then excused his self and closed the doors.

'As i was saying, i need to talk to you about your coming of age,' sighed Caspian. Caspian thought long and hard, this is difficult, pulling himself together he began, 'There will be

a banquet - and many will be coming from different kingdoms.'

'Oh, is there something wrong, king father?' Azura asked, sensing that there is much more than it meets the eye. She has this dreadsome feeling that she cannot shake. Like a knot on her stomach.

'They will be coming with' he paused, taking a deep breath, 'a proposal, each kingdom will have a proposal, Azura.' he finished saying. at the same time, her inside world shook, but it did not reflect on the outside.

Silence enveloped the father and daughter. No one knew how to break the silence. Until a knock was heard. Relieved, Caspian immediately let the person in.

'My lord, it is time.'
