Xu Weilai's pupils constricted as she stared at Grandpa Gu's hand without blinking, fearing that she might have imagined what she saw. She almost forgot how to breathe.
Grandpa Gu's finger moved again.
It was real.
Xu Weilai sat frozen for a few seconds before she stood up and reached for the nurse call button and pressed for medical help.
Mrs. Lin was the first to rush in. Worry written all over her face for fear that something bad happened to Mr. Gu Sr. She rushed towards the bedside and asked anxiously, "What's wrong? What happened to Mr. Gu Sr.?"
She heaved an enormous sigh when she saw that Grandpa Gu was still lying on the bed. She looked towards Xu Weilai.
Xu Weilai stood shivering. She frantically looked around until her gaze fell on Mrs. Lin's confused face. She slowly enunciated, "Mrs. Lin... I saw Grandpa's finger move just now."
