We spent the next few hours cleaning out areas and deconstructing. We had moved away from the business area and more towards like the housing places. In the business area everything was made of stone or metal. With regular houses I got a lot more wood materials. I mean sure I can go back to the campground for wood but who wants to sit around deconstructing tree after tree?
Angela and the girls had taken quite well to gir. As most girls have a love for small cute things. The snack foods where however rapidly disappearing.
They had disabled most of his futuristic weapons and he could only use his turret mode. So it's like I got a mobile mini turret powered by snack foods.
The second summon ticket I got only gave me a pair cool sunglasses. Apparently my ominous glowing red demon looking eyes creeped them out and I should cover them. How dare they treat a bed ridden person like this. I have been taking medicines and eating a bit more but I still haven't recovered fully yet.
I made the mistake of trying to mess around with the gruesome looking arm and figures out it can transform on command but there's a problem. The problem is where it gets the materials to transform. So let's say I was it to have a blade like metal edge. It's going to take almost all the metals from my body for the transformation and that's no good. Your body needs those to survive. I tried absorbing metals or medicine to help me recover but that's a no go apparently it can't absorb stuff like that.
It can however absorb zombies both alive and dead. Gross man its like I have to eat them with my arm. It does this weird tentacle thing and then pierces them before sucking out their insides like a spider.
That helps. As for any other abilities from the mutated virus so far it's quicker reflexes and night vision are all I've been able to find. So I don't need light to see with these creepy looking eyes. The rest of my body has no other visible changes or anything it can't change or morph none of that just the weird arm.
Anyway back to the base we where about to go through some small upgrades. Mostly it was the shitty stick fence which had already been broken down by some zombies who where wandering around. We quickly killed those off before starting the upgrades. There was a flash and the broken fence vanished being replaced by hard wood walls with a wooden stairs and a walk way on top I spent a little more wood and a bit of metal for a Gate door and 4 small watch towers on each corner.
I had enough stone for upgrades as well but I didn't have the Stone upgrades unlocked.
I browsed through everything I had. I had some basic wooden buildings and something called a command center. I quickly built the command center as I was curious. What popped up was a blue light on the map I could place. I clicked a nice little location. Poof a small building popped up. Now I could see that there where items I could build for the command base. However they where all grayed out except one. It was a communication tower. This needed a lot of metal I didn't have right now so I couldn't do anything. I did get a picture of what I would get if I built it. Basically it unlocks like telecoms for communication and a radio signal to attract people. We are not ready to attract any people at all. There's just no way we could hold down anything and prevent people from trying to rob us.
I could build a canteen that has automated food distribution to 100 people. But we don't need that right now. I built a small well though as extra water never hurts and it only cost some stone which was the only stone item unlocked.
Finally I built one of the wooden houses. It looked like a simple log cabin. Upgrade. A two story wooden house made out planks. Upgrade. A bigger two story house with a small wooden fence. Looks like a regular wood house. I tried to upgrade again but it's locked I need stone unlocked to upgrade anymore.
It was of course empty on the inside but I had a kind of shop where I could buy furniture and stuff at the cost of fabric materials. I could also buy appliances for metal. I just started buying. Got regular furniture got some clothes sets a nice welcome home rug, Some beds and blankets. Fabric is gotten by deconstructing things like couches and rugs and clothing.
By the time I was done I had a basic house. Sadly I had to upgrade more to get water pipes and such ran and had to install solar panels and batteries for power.
Next up I built a Gasoline dispenser so we could refill vehicles at the base it was also needed for a generator power system I didn't build yet as those things are loud and annoying.
"Gir!" I shout and hear the squeaky footsteps running over.
"Gir reporting for duty!" he does his little salute as his tongue pops out.
"I need you to dig a trench or moat outside the fence you think you can do that?" I ask him.
Gir loves to dig so he's already running before I finish.
"Don't dig in front of the gate out or I'm gunna be pissed!" I shout after him.
The sight of a dirty little green dog digging would be seen for the next few days. Zombies just ignored him as he doesn't smell like food anyway.
Every zombie base needs a trench filled with spikes or something helps protect the gates aswell.
