My whole day went by in a blur, I didn't notice it's already time to go home. "Madie! I'll go first, had to meet my date" Emily told me while giggling. I chuckled, "Okay, have fun"
"I will!" She winked at me then walked out of the office. I arrange my things in my table and put my jacket on. As I was walking out someone called me.
"Madie!" I turned around to my officemate Jason. Gosh, here we go again. I thought. "Hey!" I said, "What is it?"
"Going to the station?" He asked. "Yeah" I answered. "Let me drive you there then" He smiled and I nodded.
Jason is one of my rare admirers, he is handsome, honestly speaking but he is just so full of himself and always bragging about his family's wealth… just like now.
"…I also went to Japan, I booked in a very expensive hotel, but it was okay compared to the hotel I booked when I was in Dubai…" Blah, blah, blah. I hope we get there fast, I thought.
After a few minutes, Jason stopped the car on the station's entrance. I immediately remove my seat belt and dashed out of the car. "Thanks!" I said while running inside the station. "Madie, wait--!" I heard Jason called but I already entered the station and mixed in the crowd of people. Whew, saved, I thought. I immediately bought a ticket and walked near the yellow line waiting for that train.
I heard my phone rang so I fished it out of my pocket and saw my sister Annie calling. "Yep?"
"Madie, I'm in the city would you like to meet to tomorrow?" She asked. "Really?! Sure!" I beamed. It's been a while since I last saw my sister since she lived in a different city.
"Great. I'll meet you at lunch. Uhm, so where are we meeting?" She asked on the other line. I chuckled, "There's a restaurant near Brighton it is called Eat and Run. Let's meet there." I said. "Okay! So, where are you now?" She asked. "I'm at the station. I'm on my way home" I said. "Oh, okay. Take care, see you tomorrow Madie" She said. "You too sis." I said and hung up the phone. I looked up when I heard the train coming. Finally, I breathed.
The train hissed at it passes and halted. The train door opened and the people started going off the train. I walked slowly following the people inside the train. "No pushing!" I heard someone said. This is the thing I hate about rush our, I tsked.
I finally entered the train and I looked around to see any vacant seat and in the far right corner of the car train I saw him. The guy from this morning… Kevin, I whispered. And as if he heard me he slowly looked up and our eyes met. He tilted his head on the side a little and smiled. This guy is so handsome that it feels illegal, how can someone look like that?! I thought.
I slowly made my way to him and when I got close he scooted to the window side. "Hi." He greeted. I took a seat beside him and said, "Hello"
"How was your day Madie?" He asked. I shrugged, "It was tiring as usual, how about yours?" I said as I turn my head to the left to look at him. He smiled, "It was good, I had a smooth day writing my new novel"
"That's great! Wait, do you publish your work?" I asked. "Well, yeah. But only a few if the head of the publishing liked my work" He answered. I nodded, "Ohh, I see"
"Do you like books Madie?" Kevin asked. "Hmm, not really. I only read if I'm bored or something" I answered. "May I ask what are you writing about this time?" I added.
He looked at me straight in the eyes. "It's about a guy who meet a girl in the train and how they fall inlove" He said. I heard my heart skipped a beat, "O—oh, i-intresting" I stuttered. Calm down heart, I silently prayed.
We sat in silence, "Do you know how a cow laugh?" Kevin suddenly asked. "Huh?" I asked in confusion. "It's… Moo HAHAHAHAHA—haha… ha" He said loudly at first but his voice suddenly sounded low as if he realized something. I looked at him as if he grew two heads then I realized he cracked a joke. I snorted until it burst into a laughter that the people inside the train looked at me weirdly.
I laughed so hard for a whole minute until I calmed down. "Oh my gosh" I said while wping my tears. "That was so random!" I said while giggling. He chuckled, "Well that was a late reaction. Was it that funny to you?"
"No" I waved my hand, "It's not funny but the idea of you cracking a joke at a most random moment, that it funny" I said.
"Ouch, well atleast you laughed" He said while chuckling. I was about to answer when, "Tickets please" I heard the conductor said so I pulled out my ticket and it give it to him. While punching my ticket he was throwing weird glances at me. After he was done, he immediately moved to the seat in front of me.
I shrugged, "The conductor keeps throwing glances at me" I said then I looked to Kevin who is also looking at the conductor then turned to me. "Don't mind him, he might find you attractive" He said. I blushed, "Don't say that" I said. "It's true though" He said while looking at me. I looked back at him, we stared for each other for a long time.
"We arrive at the New Avenue station, please wait for the train to fully stop before going off. Thank you."
That snapped both of us in reality. I immediately put the strap of my bag on my shoulder and stood up. "I—I'll go now" I said to Kevin. He nodded then smiled, "Take care Madie and see you tomorrow" he said. I nodded and started walking to the door when I felt the train stop. The train door opened and I stepped off the train. I turned around and found Kevin looking at me so I raised my hand and waved at him. He waved back then I turned around walking out of the station.
