Chereads / The Stellar Connection / Chapter 11 - Pt. Eleven

Chapter 11 - Pt. Eleven

Today is the day that we land on Authora, the planet the produced the proud warrior race of Authorians. They travel the stars in search of supplies so they can further advance the technologies of their people, defending weaker races, creating allies where they can, and decimating races that only intend harm to others. I would need to learn all I could about the history of their race if I were to become their princess, but I supposed that's getting ahead of myself. First I have to meet the Roal family and hope they accept me.

The way the ship landed was nothing like what I imagined, we didn't have to buckle in, the landing was much ofter then I'd expect with how our spaceships practically crash into the water. It seemed to land in the bay without even disturbing the workers who were fixing other ships and waiting on our arrival.

Everyone aboard the ship started to make their way calmly from the ship, Rek' Sai turned to me and extended his arm to my while bending down on one knee. He smiled warmly at me and spoke.

"Emilie, small one, will you take my hand and join me as I walk upon the earth that will one day belong to us?" His tone was serious, yet soft, he was inviting me to walk his world beside him.

I smiled widely, I took his hand in mine and pulled him to stand, " Of course I will now let's get going, I'm too excited to sit here much longer."

He chuckled as we exited the ship hand in hand, but the joy was short-lived, for as soon as our feet hit the dirt we were converged upon by ten large soldiers. I was easily, and gently pushed aside as they grabbed Rek' Sai and placed him in restraints. Rek' Sai let out many roars of pure rage as they separated us, He never stopped trying to fight them, but their numbers were many for him to handle alone, I was now determined that when things settled out I'd convince Rek' Sai to teach me some weapons for defense. All I could do was watch in horror as they pulled him out of the room and away from me.

Not long after the doors closed did they open once again, however this time it was a female Authorian who walked through, she wore a white coat over her clothes so I'd assume she's some sort of medical professional. She walked straight up to me and stopped about a foot away.

"You must be the girl known as Emilie Massey. I was instructed to bring you to the medical facilities and do a complete assessment of your species. Follow me please." She quickly said her piece and turn to start the walk back out of the room we resided in.

"Right." No point in fighting it. I recover from the encounter and follow the woman through a whole bunch of corridors, through a couple of indoor gardens and finally to the medical wing. We entered a large room with many cabinets, counters, and equipment. In the center of the room was a large pill-shaped capsule.

"Now remove your clothing and lay inside the capsule so the exam may begin." She turns away from me and begins typing things into the control panel attached to the machine. A bit confused, I compile and begin removing my clothes and putting them on a chair in a pile. I walked up the stairs and stepped into the capsule, laying down on the plush surface I stair up to the ceiling.

Abruptly the doors close above me, and soon a clear, slimy goop begins to fill the capsule. I begin to breathe frantically, shes going to drownd me in here! I begin to pound on the top and scream, but my screams are cut short as the slime engulfs me. I try to hold my breath but find it hard, gasping before long. The slime enters my lungs, at first, it stings, then feels a bit cold, soothing my lungs. I try to breathe since the world's fading, and suddenly things start to come back into perspective. The slimes allowing me to breathe!

"If you would stop thrashing about in the chamber I would like to begin your scans, tests and analysis' now." I hear her voice reverberate in the capsule, I take a few deep calming breaths and unfurl my body so that I lay flat once again. I close my eyes and try to relax, I see many colorful light flashes from behind my lids, feel as few light tugs at my flesh, but nothing that hurt or made me severely uncomfortable.

Suddenly it all stops. I open my eyes when I feel a slight change in pressure, I find that the slime has begun to drain from the capsule, once it drains and I try to breathe I begin to cough, bringing up large amount of slime from my lungs. Gasping I pull myself from the now open doors and slide to sit on the steps outside the unit.

I glare at the woman and don't hide the displeasure from my voice. "You could have warned me, told me about what was going to happen so I could mentally prepare?" The woman looked up from her screens, shock clear on her face.

"My apologies, this is common medical equipment here, It never occurred to me that you would not know its functions." She smiled a soft apologetic smile. "My name is Dia' Sai, I am the younger sister of your bond-mate. I do not want us to get off on the wrong foot, I am mainly here to check your health and reproductive qualities. My father is hoping my brother will create an heir before he is crowned King." She rolled her eyes and smirked.

"Reproducing seems to be all these men think about, typical." I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh. Dai' Sai looked at me incredulously before bursting out in laughter. She snapped the writing utensil in her hand and bent over in her chair, by the time she was composed she had tears pooling in her eyes.

"Is it true for your planet too? The men here only think of finding mates and bearing many children to carry their bloodlines on. They do not understand that there are women like me who wish to learn before taking on such duties. Luckily, after my third failed mate finding ritual, my father allowed me to study medicine on the condition that I would still attend the rituals, and stop if my bond-mate wished me to." She smiled as she recalled the memory.

I was glad to find that even in a society where women were so precious, they weren't allowed to do anything other than birth offspring, there were some who fought the social norms. If I get the power to help others, I'm going to give them the power to chooses there own fate. We smiled at each other.

I grabbed my clothes and began to dress when I finished Dia' Sai informed me that the data would need time to analyze, and directed me to a table and chair set at the back of the room. We sat down and partook in the sweets and tea that resided there. Talking about my planet, how I got on her brother's ship, and most importantly she wanted to know our love story. She thought it was romantic that her brother saved me, yet I thought it would have been better if that whole part was left out. must be the differences in our upbringing, they are a race of warriors.

The tablet-like object on the table began to glow and Dia' Sai quickly swiped it off the table and buried her face into it. She let out a screech of delight. "Father will be pleased, your body is healthy and you are 98% compatible with our race! They will be strength brought back to our people!" She stood from the table and jumped a few times.

That was when things got a bit chaotic, the door flew open and Rek' Sai flew in with two guards trailing behind. Dia' Sai's happy face went back to meek as she ran to get out of the way to hide in the corner.

Rek' Sai let out a mighty roar that filled the room. "I have come to get you, my love, my father has heard all I can tell him of our plan and doesn't agree. We will try to persued him once more, together. We have been summoned to the Royal Hall, even you, sister."

Dia' Sai gulped as she shook her head in agreement. I went to my warrior and put my hand in his, giving it a reassuring squeeze.

"Then let's go, we can't keep the king waiting." A bitter grin appeared across my face as we left the room and made our way to the Kings audience hall.
