Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Knight

BEADS of sweat formed into his forehead. He doesn't give a care to the hot rays of the red-coloured sun that hits on his skin beneath his hard, heavy and steel armour. He keeps on slashing his sword along the wind and cutting many trees causing a loud thud to escape from the fallen branches.

He breathed heavily, wiping off his sweat on his forehead as he catches his breath.

Then slow claps filled all over the quietness in the whole place. He stopped on his feet while there is a sword on his right hand and threw a sideway glance at the person clapping behind him.

"Yo, Mr. Knight." The man greeted him and show off his cheerful smile towards him making his mood turn sour.

"What is it, Count Denvir Minrod?" He even emphasized the full name of that person including his title and status.

Count Denvir Minrod. 28 years old. A cheerful count of the Purisian Village in the Cleon Kingdom who owns many lands and livestocks. He is a great friend of him and he considered as one of his alas everytime he encounters a serious circumstances.

The guy laughed at what he said. "No need for you to call me in that name. We're friends, right?"

"..."

There was a crowd of silence gathered between them. The count was waiting for his reply but he is too lazy to speak even a single word from his mouth.

"Come on! You're really cold, my buddy." He tapped his shoulder and leaned in. "I have an important mission for you, Alaster." he whispered to him as if it is very confidential for someone to hear.

Head Knight Alaster Witternberg. The strongest knight who commands all of the troops in the Cleon Kingdom. He is known for being the 'Sword of Roaring Ice' not because of his ability to froze everything by his hands but because of his cold demeanor raging inside of him. One of the reason why most people were avoiding him due to his scary and cold face.

"The king want you to search about something special. He wanted you to be off from your knight duties and lead a search for a certain stone." Count Denvir said and he took something from his pocket then give it to him.

He accepted it without hesitation. His eyes instantly grew wides when he saw what was the thing that the count give to him.

The crest of the kingdom. If he have this crest, it says that his next mission is too confidential and more dangerous. It means that...

'He wants you to search about the stone, Genesis by yourself. This is a stone from the legend which can grant something you want. He passed this mission for us since we are the only one he can trusted.' He heard the count's voice in his head. Probably, telepathy.

But why would the king wanted the sacred stone? Is there is something that he desires but cannot be granted? It sounds intriguing to him. More like the king has a secret within his wall but he doesn't give a crap as long as he can slay demons or in a long journey.

"Okay. I'll accept this mission." He said without a doubt. The count smile at him and waved him farewell before it swallowed by the darkness given by the shadows of the woods.

He sighed as he stared again at the crest in his hand.

'This gonna be a long journey for me. I hope I can slay demons at this mission.' he said in his mind as he made the crest frozen.
