Chapter 32 - Qin Qiao VS Zhan Qing

She didn't have the time to see if Ye Si had done anything to Candy.

When she opened the door, Zhan Qing seemed a little impatient.

"N—Ninth Uncle…" Qin Qiao called out weakly, habitually adjusting her spectacles.

"Uncle Tong said that you're feeling unwell. What happened now?"

Staring at the weak Qin Qiao, Zhan Qing was annoyed at how Qin Qiao didn't look like a boy at all.

After Qin Qiao returned from Xiao Yihan's home, she didn't have the appetite to eat, so she said that she felt unwell and returned to her room to sleep.

However, she didn't think that Uncle Tong would tell Ninth Uncle about this.

"It's just a headache… I studied too much in the past two days…" Qin Qiao adjusted her spectacles again as she took the chance to yawn.

"Look at your results! How do you dare to have a headache?!" Although Zhan Qing said so, he still reached out and caressed Qin Qiao's forehead.

However, Qin Qiao avoided his touch on instinct.

Her cowardly action angered Zhan Qing once more.

"Stand properly!" Zhan Qing looked into Qin Qiao's room. Candy actually didn't run out to pounce at him.

Qin Qiao instantly shrunk into herself and stood straight from Zhan Qing's shout.

He really wanted to kick her. Even if she was a girl, she wouldn't be so cowardly.

Zhan Qing impatiently pressed his hand on Qin Qiao's forehead. She didn't have a fever.

"Go down and eat." With that said, Zhan Qing turned around and left.

Actually, he could have let Uncle Tong come up to call her down. However, he came to call her personally.

Qin Qiao closed the door behind her and followed after Zhan Qing.

She felt hungry now as well, so it was just the right timing to go and eat.

Didn't Uncle Tong say that Ninth Uncle doesn't stay home that much? However, after she moved in, Ninth Uncle actually came back rather often.

Downstairs, Zhan Qing went to sit on the sofa straight away. Qin Qiao, on the other hand, right away had her eyes on a few boxes of macarons placed on the coffee table.

Zhan Qing watched as Qin Qiao's eyes sparkled once more. When they were at the Xiao family house a few days prior, the way she looked at the macarons were the same as a puppy seeing a bone.

Zhan Qing remained silent while Qin Qiao remained standing at the same spot. She dared to not move forward.

However, she was hungry now. Sitting in front of her were macarons that she couldn't resist well, and it was rather so torturous.

"Do you want to eat?" Zhan Qing asked with a dark expression on his face.

Qin Qiao nodded like a chick pecking for food.

"What expression does Candy have when he sees delicious food usually? How does he bark too?"

Zhan Qing crossed his legs as he leaned back lazily against the sofa.

It was obvious from his tone and posture that he was playing with Qin Qiao.

Qin Qiao thought she never knew that she would be treated like a puppy one day.

If she did, she would rather act like a crazy person instead of a coward. If Ninth Uncle dared to tease her like this, she would just bite him right away.

Zhan Qing watched as Qin Qiao slowly crouched down and placed her hands on the edge of the coffee table. She then stared at him with really pitiful eyes.

She followed up with a pitiful bark, twice.

Her barks were very soft, but he could tell that she had barked.

For the first time, seeing how "cute" Qin Qiao was, he actually did not want to kick her.

Because Qin Qiao was indeed adorable like this. Like Candy, she made people like her…

"Good-for-nothing!" Zhan Qing said coldly, but he clearly didn't sound as angry as he usually did.

Qin Qiao had barked two more times as a response to his remark.

Qin Qiao thought, barking once was barking. Barking twice was also barking. Since she had barked, why not bark a few more times?

Anyway, she was just acting like a dog. It was not like she was a real dog.

Probably having heard the barks, Candy ran down the stairs.

It was as if he had drunk alcohol. When he jumped into Zhan Qing's arms, he even yawned.
