Chapter 146 - The Four Kingdoms

Days passed swiftly as Lu Wan spent the day practicing in the training hall with Ye Jiao. Thanks to the poison, Ye Jiao was unable to move properly at times, granting Lu Wan several chances to attack her. Still, the end result would be her victory.

"Tsk, if I know this, I would never agree to the training," Lu Wan complained as he looked at his junior sister.

Ye Jiao grinned. "You have become better, Senior Brother Lu. I'm sure that you'll be able to fight well when it's time."

With the two of them already having numerous fighting experience fighting outside, Lu Wan no longer has any trouble to fight using the sword. Even though he didn't completely master it, it was already pretty good. Besides, the troublemaker second young master of Lu Kingdom was supposed to be someone who had never left his residence, so this was already more than enough for them.

"Let's get out. Today my brother is going to come here," Lu Wan wiped his sweat. They had just finished their morning training as the last preparation before the representatives started to come the next day.

"What's the occasion?"

"He told me that he's going to teach me a bit regarding the rules of the four kingdoms in order to behave better," Lu Wan sighed. He turned to look at Ye Jiao. "Do you have any knowledge regarding the four kingdoms?"

"At the east of Chen Kingdom is Cao Kingdom while the west is Chi Kingdom. There's Barbarian Kingdom at the south of Chen Kingdom. At the north of each kingdom, with the exception of Barbarian Kingdom because there was a trail that belonged to it between Chen Kingdom and Cao Kingdom, there's an academy."

"How about the geography?"

"Chi Kingdom is famous for its large lake. Cao Kingdom is famous because it's filled with swamp at the south and hills at the north. Barbarian Kingdom is desert and sea at the very south," Ye Jiao replied with everything she could remember from her mother. There were not many, but the variety of the terrains was the one which caused the division of these four kingdoms.

Lu Wan looked at Ye Jiao in disbelief. "You're better in study than what I thought."

"I'm not stupid like you, Senior Brother Lu."

"…" I feel like beating her up if possible.

Seeing that it was no longer early in the morning, Lu Wan walked out of the training hall. His eyes landed on his brother, who had just arrived but his servants hadn't announced yet.

"You're early."

"It's already late," Lu Su replied in an indifferent tone. "Also, it seems that you'll need another servant that will do better work."

"No need. I'm the one who tells them that they're not allowed to give an announcement when I'm still in the training hall. Their voice is too annoying for me," Lu Wan walked to the nearby stone chair and sat down. "So, how much time do you have to teach me today?"

"I have until lunch, so you better prepare yourself."

"Uh, that's pretty long?"

Lu Su arched his eyebrows. "I won't let you off if you become an embarrassment of the Lu Family, so you have to study properly."

On the back, Ye Jiao stood quietly by Lu Wan's side. She was listening to Lu Su as the young man explained the fighting style of each kingdom. In addition, he also told his younger brother the relationship the kingdoms had with one another.

As the detail was complicated, Lu Su had to summarize everything for Lu Wan.

"In short, Chen Kingdom only has amicable relationship to either Chi and Cao Kingdom. The two of them border our kingdom, so occasional clashes are inevitable. As for Barbarian Kingdom, Chen Kingdom has a bad relationship because they're all unlawful people who wouldn't follow the rules."

"What about Chi Kingdom to Cao Kingdom? Don't they have an amiable relationship and try to attack the other two since we're in the middle?"

Lu Su shook his head. On the table was the map of the four kingdoms. Lu Su directed his index finger at the bottom of the map towards the south of Chen Kingdom. "Barbarian Kingdom is the only kingdom that border the sea. It might seem advantageous, but their location is only desert and nothing else.

Even their border with our kingdom is filled with both grassland and desert, around the area where they're connected. There's not many resources you can find in the desert, so we all came into the consensus that it would be better to leave it alone."

"Chen Kingdom?"

"The forest is naturally good as it's filled with resources, but at the same time, it's filled with beasts. There are already a lot of beasts in their area, so they have to take into calculation the manpower needed to protect their kingdom and for invasion," Lu Su explained patiently.

Lu Wan nodded and put his head on the table. "The kingdoms are truly complicated. Isn't it better to just let them become one kingdom so there's no conflict."

"If it's one kingdom, there'll be internal conflict. Also, there's no possibility for that because the four kingdoms would only want to follow after someone who has the greatest power. Unfortunately, someone who has absolute power and is recognized by the people didn't exist."

Each of the kingdoms have their own expert at rank 4, protecting the kingdoms. They always tried to gather as many masters as possible, so there was no telling how many each kingdom has. No one would divulge the secret information because it would surely leak out their weakness.

It took Lu Su a long time to make Lu Wan memorize them all. Even though the two brothers seemed to be in a bad relationship, Lu Wan still listened to Lu Su as the brat memorized everything.

"The representative is going to come tomorrow, so you should rest early. Remember to not forget everything I teach you," Lu Su gave his final warning before he bid his farewell and departed.

Lu Wan sighed. He picked his books and returned back to his room. Right after he entered, he headed straight to the table, putting his books, then walked to the bed and plopped down.

"I'm not going to do anything else today, so you can leave."

Ye Jiao was trying her best to stifle her laugh. Right now, Lu Wan looked extremely funny because she knew that the boy wouldn't feel anything even when he didn't sleep for several days, yet he already felt tired because of a few hours' lesson.

"How many representatives do you think they're going to send?" Ye Jiao tried to start a conversation as she sat down on the chair.

"There'll be a lot of them because they also have a lot of genius. Just like in Chen Kingdom, at the peak there's Chen Zi Quan and me. After that, there are Wei Yin, Wei Cheng, and many others," Lu Wan yawned.

"Do you think they'll send their best seedling?"

"It's obvious. Genius can only become a true genius if he's able to stay alive after facing countless dangers. In any case I'll introduce you to your senior brother after he comes later."

"Ah, he's among the representatives?"

Lu Wan buried his face on the pillow. "Yeah, but you wouldn't like him."

"Why?"

"You'll see later."

"Hey! I'm curious."

"Like I say, you'll know."
