Chapter 137 - Method to Recover the Core? (1)

Time passed swiftly. Winter came and passed as the two children were busy to do missions one after another. It took them a long time to finish all the missions as the winter season was almost over.

"Here you go, you have eleven points inside," the receptionist returned back the badge after she had finished adding the point.

"Thank you."

Lu Wan and Ye Jiao took their badge back as they retreated to the side. Lu Wan sighed to himself when he looked at the pitiful point they have.

"I should have known that Eon Energy Master rank 1 couldn't earn too many points," he got the urge to pick a mission with higher reward, but he knew that it would be close to impossible.

"At least, this is enough for us to get access to some of the facilities here," Ye Jiao consoled.

"I want some herbs, but there are simply too many strange ones there," Lu Wan pointed to the side hall. "Also, the price of the herbs is astronomical that it's close to impossible for me to buy the necessary amount with my points."

"How much?"

"The lowest one is 1 point, but I have seen those that has price above 100 points."

"…" that was so expensive.

Ye Jiao pointed to the other hall. "I want to visit the library before returning back to the capital city. Do you want to come along? There might be an encyclopedia about the herbs and their use there."

"How much is it?"

"1 point for four hours for the first floor," Ye Jiao smiled bitterly. It was quite expensive if they didn't use it sparingly, but she longed to know about some things.

"Fine, I'll go there."

The two of them headed to the left hall and met with the receptionist. After asking for direction, they headed to the stairs and entered the library. The size of the library was exceptionally big that it might be hard for them to find the book they wanted.

"Welcome," the librarian greeted them. "May I help you?"

"We wish to use the first floor of the library for four hours please," Ye Jiao replied as she showed her badge.

"It'll be 1 point."

"Thank you."

After the two of them got their point deducted, the librarian took out a stamp and pressed it on the back of their hand.

"The mark will disappear when the four hours' time is up. It'll start to fade around 10 minutes before the time is up, so you can determine the time better. When you're finished, do not exceed the time limit or you'll be kicked out forcefully."

"We understand."

"Here's the map to help you find the books category that you wish to find."

Taking the map, the two of them studied it. There were several categories such as herbs, occupation, Eon Energy Master rank, and many other. It was apparent that the library that the organization had was filled to the brim with many kinds of book.

"The herbs' section is over there," Lu Wan pointed to the side of the room. "I'll be going there. If you need me, just call."

"Sure."

While Lu Wan headed to that section, Ye Jiao headed to the area for Eon Energy Master training. There were many kinds of different training. Some focused on the development of their body, some focused on the Eon Energy, some even focused on the mental.

'There are so many books.'

Ye Jiao headed to the back to see the other shelves when she noticed a young man was also browsing the book. He turned to look at Ye Jiao as his pupil contracted.

"Ai Jiao! What are you doing here?"

"I can ask you the same, Lin Jie," Ye Jiao smiled bitterly. She felt that she kept on encountering this young man over and over again. Thinking of the one sided challenge that the young man kept on uttered, she wondered whether he would try to ask for another one again.

Lin Jie pointed to the books. "I'm searching for the best training method to help me in my training because I want to reach rank 2 as fast as possible."

"I see. Good luck, then."

"Hey! Are you going to leave me after winning the challenge last time?" Lin Jie crossed his arm. "I can't believe that you can be faster than me and my group even though you don't have any rank 2 in your group."

"It's the difference in the mission's content," Ye Jiao just shrugged it off. She didn't want to tell him about her own experience. For the past three months or so, she was already tired because of doing 10 consecutive missions.

"How many missions have you finished so far?"

"11."

"El-What?"

Ye Jiao looked at Lin Jie with a confused expression. Did she say anything weird? She was sure that it was fairly normal to do a lot of missions here. After all, many assassins came here because they wanted to do jobs.

On the other hand, Lin Jie has black lines on his face at the response he got from Ye Jiao. It was already bad enough that he lost in terms of time, now he lost in terms of missions' number too? So far, he had only done seven missions and they too were all a group mission with his senior brothers and sisters.

"Have you been here a long time, Lin Jie?" Ye Jiao decided to change the conversation.

Lin Jie shook his head. "Just around half an hour. Well, I've more or less already looked through some books. What do you want to find, Ai Jiao?"

"I'm searching for some books regarding training too. I also want to know if there's anything regarding a special kind of core or body," Ye Jiao was curious as to why she couldn't make the stone react when she was a kid, so she wanted to know if she could find the answer here. In addition, she wanted to find out some training method for daggers since it was quite unusual.

"You're not going to find any over here. Information regarding special body is on the second floor and it's far more expensive than here. Anyway, there are books regarding broken cores and some other impairment over there," Lin Jie pointed to the right side.

"Broken core?"

"Yeah, it's detailing the training one can do after their core is broken."

"Can you show me the book?"

"Uh, sure?" Lin Jie was confused as to why Ye Jiao suddenly got interested, but he didn't think too much.

"Thank you."
