Chapter 72 - Start of the Training

"The journey will take a few days, so I'll teach you how to circulate your Eon Energy and to control them to every path of your body," Zhan Jing remarked as they stopped midway.

"Ok."

"Before that, I need to know your exact age," Zhan Jing continued. There were records of this training method. Each of them would be different according to the age because the younger they were, the weaker their body's condition would be. There was some adjustment that they had to do.

"I'm eight years and six months old, um," Ye Jiao counted the days. It should be six months and four days or five days? Or perhaps 6 days? She was not totally sure about the hour of her birth and today's date.

"That's enough," Zhan Jing thought to himself as he recalled the training he gave to Lu Wan. He was not sure Ye Jiao would be suitable, but it was the one designed for the youngest, which was 9 to 10 years old.

While Zhan Jing was pondering, Lu Wan pointed to Ye Jiao in disbelief. "You're still eight years old?"

"Yes," Ye Jiao replied innocently.

"T-that's impossible! I thought you're already nine!"

"I'll be nine in six months."

"That's different!" Lu Wan crouched down and held his head. The news that Ye Jiao told him gave him a huge shock. If other people knew that a child at eight years old managed to form her core, they would go crazy. It was practically breaking the record of this world.

He had thought that the one who formed their core at nine was a freak, but this little junior he met was much more of a freak!

Zhan Jing looked at Lu Wan. "If you don't want to get left behind, you should train more earnestly."

"I already did!"

"It's not enough. Now, shut up so I can teach Ye Jiao."

Lu Wan clamped his mouth shut as he sat down resentfully. His master always tried to pull talented children to his side in numerous ways. Each of them was at least purple colored talent, which was known to be the highest possible talent. Who would have thought that he could meet with someone at a higher level?

No one had ever told him the existence of a higher talent than purple color.

It took a short time for Ye Jiao to start practicing. She tried to pull Eon Energy out of her core, which was pretty easy. It surprised her greatly because she recalled how hard it was for her in the past. Without wasting any time, Ye Jiao started to circulate her Eon Energy to every part of her body slowly.

Lu Wan watched as Ye Jiao trained in ease with widened eyes. "Master, why can she train so easily while I have to suffer tremendously just because I can't pull the Eon Energy out of my core?"

Zhan Jing beat him up in the past because Lu Wan didn't follow the instructions. It took this boy several hours for his first successful attempt. Seeing how easy it was for Ye Jiao to do it, he felt that it was unfair.

"She must have practiced it before," Zhan Jing replied calmly.

Lu Wan frowned. "But if she has practiced it before and yet still formed her core at eight years old, are you implying that she should have formed her core even earlier?"

"That's possible."

"…" master, now I don't have the courage to say that I'm a genius anymore.

Lu Wan sat down as he started his own training. Seeing how Ye Jiao trained, he was sure that this little lass would catch up to him soon enough. He didn't want to get left behind by this little girl.

Zhan Jing watched the two of them and didn't disturb either of them. He leaned back against the tree as he watched the surroundings. No beast dared to come closer once they sensed his power, so it was a calm night.

For the next few days, Ye Jiao familiarized herself with the circulation training while they headed to the lake. At the same time, Ye Jiao learned more about Lu Wan and this boy's family.

"Your family doesn't know that you're Master's disciple?" Ye Jiao's eyes widened in disbelief.

Lu Wan shrugged. "There's no way that stuck up Lu Family would accept that their descendants became part of an assassin organization. They're known to be righteous and all, so everything related to the underworld should be erased from their presence."

In other words, Lu Wan had intentionally joined their enemy.

Ye Jiao had heard that the Lu Family was a scholarly family that was famous for their knowledge and manner. They were also very powerful in the court that no one dared to fight them openly. With their ability to turn the situation around based on the so-called truth, they have the stable footing here.

Of course, the fact that their family head was a rank 4 helped it very much. No one wanted to be on the bad side of a rank 4 in case their family would be wiped out.

"Why do you stand on the opposite side?"

"I don't have any good relationships with my family," Lu Wan replied. "They're always looking at me with hope that I can bring the entire family up by joining the prestigious academy. Because of my talent, they want to use me to raise their status.

I hate it. I never have any interest in building relationship with any of them because of how fake they are," Lu Wan's face scrunched in disgust.

"I guess it's not going to be easy for you."

"Nah, they don't dare to go against me, so I have complete freedom. Who could stand learning about manners, politics, and all the entire day? I would prefer using the time to focus on my training as a martial artist," Lu Wan replied.

"Have you ever tried to talk with them?"

"It's useless," Lu Wan shrugged. "My father only comes to me to ask about my training and advancement. Upon forming my core at the age of 10, he starts to give me more freedom and no longer restrict my movements. As long as I give him some satisfactory result in training, he won't do anything."

Ye Jiao frowned. She couldn't imagine what kind of parent would actually let their child like that.

Lu Wan looked at Ye Jiao. "I'll give you a complete overview after you finish your training and come to my residence."

Wait, what?
