Upon hearing the odd question of her mom, Ally uncertain how to answer. "What? I'd just follow what you've said. It's really thanks to God."
"But I did not say that…"
"Huh?! But I clearly heard you said that." Ally responded with a loud voice as she closed her eyes, thinking that her mom is making fun of her.
"But darling, I really never said that." Her mom said in a soft voice as if she's begging her daughter to believe her. However, Ally didn't bother to answer as she relaxed her throbbing head.
'Sigh. It seems like she's not fine and doesn't want to worry me. Oh, my child.'
Her mom's voice rang inside her head once again, as Ally opened her brown doll eyes and face her mother. "I already told you mom. I'm fine—"
Ally, who was about to retort her mom left her mouth and eyes wide open. This time, she believed that her mom's words were truth. Her mom's mouth was closed but her eyes widened in disbelief.
"D-D-Did you read my mind?!" Her mom asked in a loud voice as she stuttered.
"I-I don't know…" Ally uncertain what to answer, she doesn't really have any slight idea of what's happening. 'I can read my mom's mind?'
Her expression was the same with her mother, she's utterly clueless at the situation. What happened to her when she's unconscious? How in the world she can read her mom's mind? She has no clue at all.
'Ugh!' A sudden pain rushed in her head as she grabbed it while groaning. 'It hurts!'
Upon seeing her daughter sudden yelped in pain, her mom hurriedly held her in worry. "Don't think about it, for now, darling. Just take a rest."
Her mother's brown eyes were filled in worry as her mom gently lay her on the bed. Then, it didn't take long as she fell asleep because of the pain.
In the morning, Ally finally woke up.
As she opened her eyes, morning sunlight bathed her flawless, round, and childish face. "Ugh." She groaned as she raised her left arm to block the sunlight that obstructing her vision.
Looking around, Ally found herself inside a small room with water dispenser in the corner of the room, beside it was an ornamental indoor plant on a flower vase. And beside her bed was a huge glass window, where the sunlight came from.
"Where is mom?" She wondered as the doorknob of her door's room suddenly clicked, indicating that the door was unlocked from the outside, as it slowly opened. And her mom in a black and white checkered blouse, enter the room.
"Oh. You're awake." Her mom exclaimed in relief when she saw her fully awake as her mom smiled to her. However, behind that smile, she knew that her mom haven't take any sleep yet.
"Good morning, mom." Ally greeted with a bright smile she could muster. This is the only thing she could give to her mother for the time being.
Seeing her daughter smiling brightly at her, Ally's mother couldn't help but also flashed a smile. "Good morning, darling."
"Where did you went, mom?" Ally asked in curiosity.
"Me? I just talked with some friend here in the hospital." Her mom answered and sat on the chair beside Ally's bed.
"Do you have a friend here in the hospital?"
"Yes, she's my high school classmate—"
Knock! Knock!
A sudden knock on the door interrupted the mother and daughter conversation, as they focused their attention on the opening door.
A womanly voice rang out, followed by the appearance of a seeming teenager in a nurse outfit. "Sorry for the intrusion, Miss Alice. But someone needs your time."
"Who is it?" Ally's mom asked the nurse.
"Should I let him enter?" The nurse respectfully questioned, executing her well-mannered attitude.
'Who could it be?' Ally and her mom thought in their minds. However, since the person is already on the outside, it will be rude if they didn't let him enter.
"Mm-mm." Alice nodded her head.
"Okay, just a second. I will call him." The nurse answer as she opened the door and called out.
"Mister Police officer, you can go in now." The nurse spoke in a coquettish tone of voice before leaving.
"Pfft!" Ally couldn't hold her laugh when she heard the coquettish voice of the seemingly well-mannered nurse earlier.
"Shh! Ally!" Her mom immediately hushed her. However, she could saw that her mother was only holding her laugh as well.
"Sorry for the intrusion." Amidst their bright conversation, a manly voice rang behind the door as a tall-tanned man in a long black coat, and black leather-vest entered the room.
Silence filled the room as the mother duo stared at the man's appearance. Thick eyebrows, pointed nose, thin red lips, and crystal black-eyes as if he's a Filipino version of superman.
"Ehem! Mom!" Ally's voice broke the awkward silence as she glared at her drooling mom.
"W-What?!" Her mom was startled as stammered when she answered. Realizing her behavior, her mom suddenly blushed in embarrassment.
"Mom, how old are you? 18 years old?!"
Upon hearing Ally's question, Alice's face turned red as a tomato in embarrassment as she refuted her daughter before focusing her attention to the man. "Shut up, Ally! And who might be this gentleman?"
'Oh, mom!' Ally wanted to facepalm right now when she saw her mother's shameful behavior.
"Good morning, Miss Alice. I am SP01 James Gomez. I'm sorry for the short notice. But, I'm here to ask for you're daughter's time. I'm assigned to get her statement about what happened to her last night." James stated as he paused for a second before continuing. "Well, I'm also here to bring a piece of good news."
"What good news?" Alice inquired in a tone filled with curiosity.
"Ah. Wait before that, could you please explain to me what happened after I lost consciousness. How did you guys manage to find me?" Ally interjected.
"About that, a man reported witnessing all what happened. Since he also gave the plate number of the van. We easily trace the van and stopped it before it could left the city." James answered.
"By chance, did you know who is this man who helped me?" Ally questioned, hoping to found her savior's name, and by a small thing, she wanted to thank him. However, her hope was immediately crumbled as James couldn't give the man's name.
"I'm sorry about that. But, that person doesn't want me to give his name to anyone. Forgive me."
"Why? I just want to thank him?"
"No, he said that you don't need to thank him. I apologized, I can't really tell you."
'Oh, Lee what's with the fuss? This girl was quite cute. If he discovered that the girl he saved was this cute. He would probably regret his decision.' James thought in his mind which clearly heard by Ally.
Lowering her head, Ally hide her blushing face. However, despite that, her mind was focused on her savior's name.
'Lee? Why don't you want me to know you?'
