Siv arrives a little late to the hall. The six chiefs are all present already. Gary, Colby, and Kirja are also sitting on the floor pillows. Eydis nods at her as soon as she enters, then she motions to the empty seat next to Gary.
Unlike the first dinner they had in So, the hall is bare with no decorations. There is no music either, and most of the faces around are grim. Servants pass glasses of wine to everyone before Eydis pushes to her feet.
"Let us drink for our dead before we start." She calls, holding her glass in the air. "May they never be forgotten, may the Goddess accept them by her side, and may She give us the strength to avenge them." Everyone gulps their glasses down.
Eydis sits back and motions to her men to serve food. A little upgrade from the soup and fish they have been eating since the attack. There is more meat and more vegetables and, as always, delicious.
