Gary leaves Thyra's room feeling like there is a hand in his chest, squeezing his heart. He feels like he is suffocating, so he rushes to the back door and walks to the beach. He takes a few deep breaths. The salty breeze calms him down.
'Maybe she cursed me. Maybe she was right. I will never be happy with anyone else.'
The thoughts are scrambled in his head. Is their love really over before it even began? Gary curses under his breath.
"This is not fair." He whispers.
He remembers looking into Siv's sapphire eyes and the feelings he had, like nothing else mattered except that particular moment. When she smiled and it reached her eyes, he wanted time to stop so that he could stare at her forever.
