"But it will take our ships five days to get to the other side of the continent, Your Majesty."
"Commander Nybo." Brandt sits back in his chair. "Do you think I do not know that?"
"My apologies for my hasty reaction." The middle-aged man is embarrassed, but mostly nervous.
"We have been secretly working on new technology that would cut that time in half." The members all look at each other, surprised.
Of course he cannot tell them that the queen will be using magic on the ships to double their speed, so he covers it up with ambiguous mentions of technology. Thankfully, they are too loyal to question it.
"That is terrific, Your Majesty." Commander Pihl comments.
"You just need to get your men ready and destroy those barbaric Easterners." Brandt grins.
"We will, Your Majesty." They all bow to the king when he motions for them to leave, including Benson.
"So, what do you think, little brother?"
