'Grrr'
The six-armed zombie let out a guttural scream as the bolt of lightning paralysed its muscles while darting to and fro on its body and focused upon its weak points like the areas around its joints and wings.
The bolt of lightning then scoured through its head region and exited its body before proceeding towards another zombie. Its size was now only one-fourth of its previous as it once again entered the body of the huge zombie.
The baby pigeon dissolved its transformation the moment it had neared its paralysed foe to deliver the killing blow.
Purple smoke gushed out of the pores on his skin and coagulated into a cocoon that wrapped around him and shattered to reveal a baby Gharial from within. Making use of the paralysed state of the huge zombie, the baby Gharial opened its jaws wide and closed it shut over its head.
'Squelch'
The eyes of the Gharial bled profusely as another zombie had pierced its eyes while two more zombies held its jaws open and prevented it from closing shut.
The jaws of the Gharial were thin as compared to crocodiles and alligators and also didn't have the same level of destructive force as them when closing its jaws shut. Moreover, the baby Gharial Prakash had transformed into clearly didn't have enough power to finish off its opponents with a single attack.
He had counted on his baby Gharial form to finish off the huge zombie that had survived two of his lightning bolts but didn't factor for the appearance of other zombies. There had been 7 seven zombies on the battlefield initially while the six-armed zombie was the eight one.
Now, Prakash counted 11 zombies among which the three new zombies attacked him while the rest were still paralysed and barely floated in the air. Of the three zombies, two held its jaws from closing shut while the third one was the one that had punctured its left eye.
The purple bolt of lightning that was a fraction of its former self emerged out of the body of the huge zombie and entered into the body of the two zombies that prevented its jaws from closing shut.
In an instant, the Gharial dissolved its transformation and transformed into a baby pigeon and flew towards the huge zombie and once again transformed into a Gharial. Making use of the window of opportunity presented by the last embers of the lightning bolt, the baby Gharial clamped its jaws at the head of the huge zombie.
'Puchi'
"Aaargh," The moment his jaws shattered the head of the huge zombie into pulp, his baby Gharial transformation dissolved into purple smoke when a zombie punctured its right eye.
It was the very same zombie that had punctured its left eye before that gave an opportunity for the other two new zombies to stop its jaw bite.
The figure of Prakash began to fall as he failed to transform. The pain of having both his eyes punctured disrupted his mentality and prevented him from transforming once again while the appearance of a blue shade on his skin further ensured his inability to transform.
This was the reason the zombies were to be feared. Their attacks directly injured the main body even while under a transformed state.
Droplets of purple blood left a vertical trace in the air as they leaked out of the eye sockets of Prakash that continued to holler out in pain.
Purple smoke gushed out of his body and transformed into the mini Victoris that acted as his final line of defense against the three zombies.
After unleashing two lightning bolts, Ugly Shaggy had become so weak that it could no longer maintain its materialised state and dissolved into purple smoke that was absorbed back into his body.
A crow flapped its way towards the three zombies and collided into them with reckless abandon while another crow swooped towards Prakash and clutched him with its claws.
"Damn it, I'll kill you," Prakash rained down his fists on the claws of the crow that caught him but even his increased strength failed to damage it.
His skin also began to turn a slight shade of blue as time passed when a zombie kicked the crow that carried him.
'Caaw' 'Caaw'
The crow tried to retaliate with its beak but the zombie cunningly dashed to its behind and stung with its wasp stinger. This zombie had the stinger of a wasp in place of its legs while it had the head of a mosquito and the wings of a wasp on its back.
Mini Victoris turned transparent and passed through the body of the crow and emerged out from the other side and brandished its sharp mandibles. It drew out a large gaping wound across the stinger of the zombie through which blue blood oozed out.
The zombie immediately performed a feint and flew towards the front of the crow and stung Prakash.
"Aargh" Prakash screamed out in pain and retaliated with a punch of his own towards the source. The zombie was blasted a few centimetres away in the air by his punch.
"…Strong," The zombie dusted the region of its chest that had slightly caved in due to the punch and defended against the follow-up attacks of the mini Victoris. Prakash stopped hitting the claws of the crow that carried him when mini Victoris informed him through their connection that the crow was their ally.
Since he could neither use Ugly Shaggy nor transform due to his skin turning a mild shade of blue, Prakash felt like a helpless sitting duck. He was also informed of the fact that his mini Victoris was suffering under the attacks of the three zombies.
The crow was rushing towards the base while almost 50 mini Shaggy fought off against the surrounding birds and the three zombies that tried to kill both Prakash and the crow that carried him.
'Chiiiiii'
A huge bird that looked like a cross between a crow and a pigeon chirped in pain as it dissolved its transformation to reveal a human figure whose skin was a deep shade of blue.
Victoris had long since dissolved into purple smoke and entered his body due to severe exhaustion while his mini Shaggy urgently entered the body of the puppet pigeon and desperately tried to transfer all of the blue smoke that had accumulated in his body. Any later, and he would transform into a zombie too which would spell doom for the entire base.
Vikram gasped for breath as he held the body of the puppet pigeon for support which wobbled its way towards the base. The six-armed zombie was a dismembered corpse now but it was stronger than he had anticipated.
If that lightning bolt hadn't hit its body twice at the perfect time during their fight, then it would have been Vikram who might have ended up in the belly of the six-armed zombie.
Vikram took a moment to gather his bearings as he inspected his surroundings. Due to all the venomous mist Victoris had pumped into the air, most of the birds were either desperately scratching the itch that had formed all over their bodies or floating over the murky waters as a corpse. There were only about 12 birds that were still actively fighting against them.
Seven of the 12 birds had already breached through their defences and were attacking their primary Lego structure alongside six zombies while the other five birds were attacking a crow alongside three zombies.
Almost 50 mini Shaggy tried their desperate best to protect the two crows that were heading towards the base while the rest of the mini Shaggy and mini Victoris were protecting the primary Lego structure in their base.
"Brother!" Vikram got a fright as he saw the appearance of Prakash. The man had lost his eyes while the rest of his body was laden with severe injuries and were dripping blood.
Vikram immediately tried to transform when the purple smoke that gushed out of the pores on his skin reverted inside. It was only then he had noticed his skin complexion that had become a deep shade of blue and at the figure of mini Shaggy that was desperately transferring blue smoke from his body into the puppet pigeon that was on the verge of death.
Since he wasn't attacked by any creature for the time being, the puppet pigeon safely managed to land on their base on the fourth floor when its legs gave out.
'Thump'
Vikram fell face first on the floor as he looked behind him at the figure of the puppet pigeon that had breathed its last. There was a gaping hole in its stomach that oozed out a copious amount of blood, not to mention the numerous blood-soaked patches all across its body. It had taken the brunt of the six-armed zombie's attacks that were filled with wasp venom.
The moment it had died, mini Shaggy emerged out of its head as it found out that it could no longer transfer the blue smoke into its body. The puppet pigeon also didn't release a purple snake after death, probably due to the fact that mini Shaggy had pumped excess amounts of blue smoke into its body.
Vikram began to sprint towards a nearby Lego structure that was vacant to gain shelter against the birds and zombies. Since he couldn't transform, he would be practically killed in seconds if any of his foes spotted him.
Vikram managed to enter the Lego structure without getting discovered and shut the door behind him.
Before their expedition began, he had ordered everyone in their base to huddle within the primary Lego structure situated at the centre of their base which spanned 5 metres in length, 4 metres in breadth and spanned 2 metres in height; it was capable of housing everyone without discomfort.
Thankfully, they could now use their collective might to fight against the birds and the zombies. Otherwise, they would be picked off one by one by the cunning birds and the vicious zombies whose intelligence was almost on par with humans.
Some of the scouts in the central Lego structure spotted the figure of Vikram that ran into another Lego structure and communicated among their ranks.
They swiftly informed the possessor of the mini Shaggy that controlled the crow to bring Prakash towards Vikram. The chances of him surviving beside Vikram were higher than being brought towards them since their Lego structure was completely surrounded by enemies.
Upon his mental input, the crow abruptly accelerated in the air, ignoring the injuries it sustained in doing so and successfully managed to catch its foes off-guard.
The crow swiftly dropped the body of Vikram near the door when Vikram caught him and retreated inside. The crow once again flew up and fought with another crow.
"Thank god you're safe," Vikram exclaimed in joy as he hugged the injured figure of Prakash.
"It's good that you are safe too," Prakash felt relieved upon hearing the familiar voice.
"Brother, rest until Shaggy recovers. Let me cover you till then," Vikram said he proceeded to walk towards the door to inspect his surroundings. He wanted to enslave a bird irrespective of the Karma expenditure; otherwise, they might all get devoured at this rate.
Most of the stronger warriors could no longer transform due to having over-transformed in their escape towards the base from the raid location while the remaining ones would simply send themselves to their deaths due to their low accumulation of Karma.
Moreover, some of the stronger warriors who didn't have other options but to transform in order to survive and protect their loved ones immediately turned into zombies the moment they transformed. Their situation was quite precarious.
Vikram had just touched the door handle when his head began to spin while his legs gave out under him. Veins bulged out all over his body and threatened to burst out.
'Thud'
The leader of the base had fallen unconscious.
