"You're a good guesser," Hazel replied nonchalantly.
She wasn't sure what to do or say to Will now that she knew he was actually Billy. Her Billy! The one she had been in love with for most of her life. It was still hard to believe he was really in front of her right now.
He looked calm now…but, based on his reaction earlier, he had probably panicked when he got home and couldn't find her. The way he was sitting out on the porch waiting was almost too casual.
"Sorry for worrying you," Hazel added. "Would you mind holding the door open for me so I can get this inside without smudging it?"
Will jumped up and opened the door immediately, following her down to the basement where she set the easel up for the painting to dry. The moment she set it on the easel and took a step back, his arms were around her from behind and he buried his face in her hair.
