Hazel was pleased that Will and Henry had been thick as thieves lately but she was concerned that neither of them wanted much to do with Maisie. She already knew her son thought his sister was an annoyance but that was supposedly not uncommon between siblings.
There had to be some way to make them get along better given time. It was Will she was more concerned about.
He performed his duties as a family man to the letter…and did no more than that. If asked, he would play with her but he never sought Maisie out first.
She didn't mind him or Henry and would occasionally ask them for hugs and kisses but she preferred being glued to Hazel's side. That made her life rather difficult. Was this what it had been like for Will with Henry following him everywhere?
