Will hid his bloody clothes in the shed for now, intending to get rid of them permanently in the middle of the night when Hazel was asleep. Now he had to get inside and explain why he had been gone so long.
It turned out to be unnecessary. She had fallen asleep while drawing and even the sound of the blast hadn't woken her. Well, it had been a few miles away.
He quietly crept away to burn the clothes now. It was better not to wake her. He could pretend he had been here the entire time when she eventually got up on her own.
Now that one problem was dealt with, Will had other things to think about. Like Abramson. Roberto hadn't mentioned when their weekly check-ins were supposed to be. It would probably be better to kill him sooner rather than later.
If he left on a "business trip" first thing in the morning, he could take care of that annoyance first. It had been tempting to kill him anyway simply because of what nonsense he wrote but Will hadn't wanted to be implicated.
