Charlie Thornton had been dreadfully bored since going to prison. It was the same thing every day. Wake up. Exercise while heavily guarded. Spend time in isolation. Eat. Listen to the radio. Repeat.

If he wasn't a high-security prisoner, he would have more options but he had immediately been classified as trouble as a serial killer. They didn't even give him a roommate.

Getting caught had been incredibly stupid on his part. But he hadn't anticipated his home getting broken into by the sheriff. He really should have stayed on top of his bills better. Al Capone got nailed for tax evasion. He got nailed for failing to follow an eviction notice.

At the time he had been preoccupied with stalking and killing as many couples as possible. There hadn't been time for worrying about things like jobs.
