Hazel was rarely filled with as much regret as she was waking up the following afternoon when her head was about to crack open and she was stiff from spending the night on the floor. She saw a text from her husband asking her to let him know she was alive once she was lucid dated from four hours ago.
Oh no.
She checked her call history and saw that he had called last night after she blacked out from the drinking game and it had lasted several minutes. What had she said to him?!
'I'm alive but I wish I was dead' she texted.
He replied almost immediately. 'Someone of your size really shouldn't drink that much. I would say it serves you right but I feel genuinely sorry for you. What were you doing anyway?'
She scowled. Somehow that made her feel worse than if he had said it without the add-on. 'I was an unwitting victim of Eva's sister's bachelorette party. Don't judge me. I've never been to one of these things before'
