"The ski lift is this way," Will said, breaking Hazel out of her thoughts.
They had already clipped their boots back into the skis they left outside the lodge and were slowly making their way across the snowy ground. She should have been paying more attention from the start; it was surprising she hadn't tripped over her own skis yet.
She nodded and followed his instructions about how to get on the lift. Sitting there with her feet dangling as they slowly moved up the mountain was thrilling in its own way.
The sun sparkled off of the snow-covered trees and a cold breeze blew through the fur framing her hood. It was a beautiful day. Maybe she could convince Will to get them season passes here so she could work on improving her skills. She could see herself truly loving to ski.
