Artie came by Roberto's office a few hours later with a cheerful expression. Nothing ever seemed to faze that guy aside from executions.
"Heard you wanted to see me. What's up?"
He took a deep breath, willing the right words to come that would convince him to help. "You want the boss back, right?"
Artie looked at him like he was stupid. "Obviously. Things are too boring without him around. I love seeing the other guys practically wet their pants when he makes his scary face."
Funny, considering he was one of those guys too half the time. No matter. Roberto wasn't trying to pick a fight. He needed to appeal to this man properly.
"Then am I correct in assuming you'd do anything you needed to in order to help me get him back here?"
Artie eyed him shrewdly. "Define 'anything'. I don't want to go the same way Lenny did."
