Chapter 2 - Her Name

When the box touched the ground it became a marvel, Priest and those of Faith came to assess. None could touch the mysterious object, as for the girl's existence it was completely forgotten about, she laid like a broken doll on the side of the stone house. Her blank expression was at the ground.

Her family was celebrating since the mysterious object was in front of their house. They took as a blessing from god towards their family. They boasted about it in fact and started to make money from being this so-called 'Blessed'.

A priest came, except he didn't look like any normal priest he looked to be one in which held a very high position. He was accompanied by other fellow priests and some guards. The cube was everyone's focus, so it was hard to see the little girl next to some hey and wheel, sitting lifelessly on the ground.

Her bruises were still there and all over her face since her family was more into the money, they were gaining more than anything else. She was forgotten at the side, and the abuse didn't happen as much as they were too distracted.

The priests were baffled at the box that could not be touched, confirming the rumors. They believed it was something sent by god. As there were three other incidents, but, they were confused. They learned that these objects could be touched but only their chosen. This is the revelation they received from their god, to collect the four that had been chosen by the stars.

This is secretly known by the church, the three chosen were all in the confines of the church and are well-taking care. The fourth was the last one to be found, and the chosen object had been sitting in its place for a long time. Which meant something was wrong.

Eventually, the High Bishop had been summoned to access the situation, because the fourth still hadn't been found.

"When you and your family tried to touch the object, your hands went through it correct?" the High Bishop asked, even he was confused and wondering if he was missing something.

"Yes Sir," The father said respectfully, even he was confused and wondering why the priest kept asking this same question. But he didn't dare to question a man of God. As this was going on, one of the younger priests about a little over twenty years old. Was outside the home was viewing the box. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw legs, child legs they where hidden in the tall grass and the body couldn't be seen.

So out of curiosity, the young priest walked over. He looked horrified at first at all the bruised the young child had, it was still bad, despite the abuse not happening for a while.

"Hey," he said, but couldn't get the girl's attention. Her gaze was blank and looking down. "What's your name?" he asked but still didn't get a response. He touched her tin shoulder, he was nervous and was at the same time frozen, the girl was skinny, too skinny.

The type that said it looked like she hasn't been fed much at all in her life. Feeling a bit bolder, he picked up the light body that still didn't react. The girl didn't even flinch nor make a sound, she was so eerily soulless that it made him scared. At this point the guards that had been curiously watching.

They Saw as the young Priest carried the little girl toward them his face looked pale. Not understand until he came close with the little girl. The young girl was so light, that the priest felt like he was holding a child doll. The guard took a full look at the little girl covered in bruises, not reacting at all and just staring at the ground. She wasn't moving really at all; she didn't even look like she was breathing.

The priest knew better, if he didn't pick her up and felt her heartbeat, he really would have thought this girl was a very realistic doll because she was cold when he touched her and didn't move one bit. Not knowing what to do he looked to the older guards.

"Put her down," said one of the guards. The Priest nodded his head as he tried gently put her down, her feet touched the ground, and when it did, he felt that she didn't put any strength in her legs. He paused and looked at the guards with an unsure expression.

The guards encouraged him to let the girl down, the priest sighed and let her go.

As if in slow motion the little girl fell over, she never planned to get up as she toppled over like a child's oversized toy.

"….." The Guards

"..." The Young Priest.

"….." The crowd that had gathered, due to the large group of Priest being there.

Everyone was surprised and stood there looking blankly because the little girl just fell over, the priest went and checked on her, her dull eyes were open and just not really focusing on anything or even acknowledging anything.

Most of The Crowd knew who she was and began talking amongst themselves. It was very well, known how this girl was treated by her family but they never said anything.

When the little girl was born, she was badly deformed, she didn't look human which terrified the town and her family.

The nearby priest didn't bother to perform a baptism for her, she was just that hideous and inhumane looking. He at the time told the family that she must still be raised by them. To which they reluctantly followed, the father had committed some sin and raising what he considers a demon's spawn was how he could earn forgiveness.

The rest of the town just turned their heads toward the situation. Even when it looked bad, even when they would lock the little girl out in the winter, even when they saw that they were starving her.

What is even sadder, is they had always known that her family was so disdainful towards her to the point that they never gave her a name.
