Chapter 4 - Chapter 3

Hanc walked back to the drop-off area and to his surprise, no one was there. The only sign that showed someone was there was the fact that there were parked vehicles. These parked vehicles looked like safari vehicles in old books and old advertisements; for something called Jeep. They seemed to be quite popular.

Before taking action, he scanned the area to make sure that no one was around. Even though he was allowed to return whenever he wished, it was not quite advised. This rule was a bit of a gray area that confused many people. But, no one told him that he was not specifically allowed to leave. And besides, he did not want his discovery to be in the wrong hands.

He carefully walked towards one of the parked vehicles and he inspected it to make sure that there was any indication that he couldn't use it. He didn't see anything and it seemed to be open to anyone. Hanc thought it was a bit strange but nothing was really "normal" anymore. He put the bin in the passenger side of the vehicle and jumped into the operator's side. The car was modified; no keys were required, a push-to-start button was installed, instructions were included, and an AGS (Automatic Guidance System). He pushed the button and put in the address to his compound. It started to slowly move and drove away.

Hanc arrived at his compound and he scurried inside with the bin. He was still in his suit but he felt so trapped inside of it. He did have something from the wasteland in his home though. But without much thought, he took off his suit and exposed himself to the bin. At first he thought something radioactive or toxic might leech into his skin and kill him, even though he is partly one of the "synthetic-ones." But, after a minute or two of feeling fine he looked around the main room of his compound.

When Hanc first moved into his compound, he found quite obvious cameras in every corner of every room. No one had mentioned anything about this and considering that his compound was one of the cleaned and older buildings it made a little bit of sense. When he had asked the seller of the compound, the seller forgot to tell Hanc about the cameras and reassured them that they were broken and disconnected. But, out of some unknown fear of his, he pulled them off the walls and taped the area just in case.

Hanc looked up at the taped-holes corners and squinted at them. If someone was watching him then Hanc was watching them back. He didn't want anyone to find out about his treasure. It was his alone.
