KIARAProf. Collins classes are always boring. He keeps going on and on and on about the same topic, which sometimes sounds like a lullaby. Not a single word he has uttered until now has gone straight into my head and he is currently explaining something about microcontrollers and their architecture or whatever it is, while I am busy daydreaming, particularly about food as I am feeling a bit hungry at the moment. I slightly tilted my head to look at Mia, my classmate and a good friend and it seemed like she too was struggling to keep her eyes open and then I turned around to look at the class and most of my classmates were not paying any attention to prof Collins, some were playing with their phones while some were at almost about to drop their head on the desk, a very few studious people were trying to concentrate...Thank god! I am not the only one who is not able to pay attention.I glanced down at my wristwatch and thankfully I have to endure this class for another five minutes, but that five minutes seemed like an eternity to me.Finally, when the lecture ended and I relaxed for a bit. We still have another hour long class, hopefully it will not feel that everlasting and I am hungry too." Which class do we have now? " Asked mia searching for something in her backpack."Applied physics, I think" I said"God! I don't want to listen that grumpy old man now" She groaned, referring to prof. Gibson, who was an extremely bad tempered old man in his late fifties handling physics. Students preferably stirred clear of him due to his hot temper but apart from that he was an excellent professor. I took a deep breath and mentally prepared myself to listen to this one more class and then I'll be free.To our surprise, instead of prof Gibson walking in a young man entered and stood on the Diaz. The moment I saw him, I gasped out in surprise."Sam!?""Do you know him? " Mia asked me curiously. I couldn't reply anything other than nod my head." Hello everyone " He said in his sweet British accent waiting for the class to completely focus their attention on him " I am sameer aryan , your new associate professor working under prof. Gibson and I'll be handling electromagnetic theory and crystal physics "." Isn't he too young to be an associate professor?" Mia whispered in my ears.
I couldn't respond to that too. I was way too surprised or rather shocked to see sam here and the fact that I am supposed to be his student is getting hard to digest.
"And he is soo damn good looking" Mia said leaning forward on the desk. That I had to agree with her, Sam looked handsome alright. Especially with him dressed soo formally in a navy blue shirt neatly ironed and the topmost coller button was left open and a grey coloured trousers. His half wavy half curly black hair was neatly combed back and he wasn't wearing his glasses today.
"By the way, how do you know him?" asked mia."Long story, I'll tell you later during lunch" I said.Shrinking back on my seat, I tried to make myself invisible, not wanting sam to see me. Don't know why but I didn't want him to recognise me.".... Applied physist conduct research in physics to develop new technologies or solve engineering problems, it differs from engineering physics as they solve well defined problems... " Bits and pieces of what sam was lecturing went into my head as I wasn't listening to him, for I was busy staring at him. I wasn't ogling or anything but I at present I'm not sure if I am imagining this or if sam is actually here.Sam was really good at his teachings. He didn't drag on any topic like most of our professors here would do and gets straight to the point, giving understandable examples and making the class interactive."Crystal physics or crystallography is a branch of physics that deals with all possible types of crystals... If a x-rays is passed through a crystal, it makes a pattern on the photographic plates, the pattern is known as crystallogram..... "The class was actually interesting, unlike the other boring ones and the time went pretty fast. I don't know if sam has noticed me yet, for he didn't show any signs of recognition.
I internally sighed and got up from my seat once the class was done and walked towards the cafeteria, with Mia tagging along. Once we grabbed our food, we found an empty seat in the corner." Now tell me... How do you know this new handsome professor?" She asked, I could tell that she was more than just curious"Well, I happened to meet him in the flight, on my way back" I said biting my ham burger "And he happened to be seated next to me""Aww.. And??" She asked leaning a bit more closer."And what??" Didn't I tell just answer her question?"No, tell me what happened next? ""Nothing, we just introduced ourselves and spoke a little" I said chewing my fries"Did he tell you that he is going to work at our university? Or wait..did you tell him that you are a student here? " .I just shrugged and said, "Nope"I thought she was done with with her interrogations but nay... She had more questions to ask. I sighed and answered to each one of her curious questionings patiently for the rest of our meal."Aww.. This is going to be fun" Commented mia once I told her every single detail."Huh?""A professor student love story""What? " Where in the God's name does she come up with all these absurd thoughts?"Come on he is good looking and very well educated, he will make up a perfect boyfriend for you"Boyfriend, that's the last thing I want. I'm not ready to complicate things in my life, I happy with the way it is.I chuckled and said " That can never happen and besides he didn't even seem to recognise me"" Don't be stupid kia, you can't expect him to say ' Hi kiara, fancy meeting you here...' in front of the whole class, as a professor he will have his own code of conduct" Mia pointed out "Don't worry you will get more opportunities to converse with him in future " That said she winked at me."Maybe" I mumbled not wanting to take the conversation ahead.Donno why, but since the day I returned back I am not able to stop thinking about the coffee guy, I met back in new Zealand. Sam is good looking alright, but this guy whoever he is, is a hundred fold better looking than sam.Will he make me pay for what I did? Or was it just an empty threat?
