Chapter 48 - Waste of Time

Sheri washed her hands vigorously as she thought about all that just transpired. She couldn't believe the Governor and his wife would just ambush her like that. The more she thought about it the more irritated she became. "What was the point of having me come here, acting as if I had a choice in anything when they knew they were going to do things their way to being with?" Sheri said to her self as she applied on some fancy lotion that was by the sink.

Just then Sheri's phone vibrated. It was Jill.

Jill: Girl, don't feel bad, nobody's messing with Monica right now. She's out here messing with the help because no one wants to talk to her.

Sheri: Good, they probably can't stand her a** either. I'm just over here mad that they high jacked my school and came at me like I had options.

Jill: True. They literally could have just sent an email saying "Dr.Woods, we're taking over your school. Any grievances or concerns, feel free to keep to yourself...."

Sher: ๐Ÿ˜‚exactly!๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜’

This really was an waste of time and energy. Sheri thought to herself in frustration. They could have just briefed her on the new school year with these new challenges and told her what's what. Or maybe this was an attempt to have her understanding and cooperation. But if Sheri supposed to be excited about working side by side with the Governor's wife then they have no idea who Sheri is as an individual. Big titles don't make her tick. Efficient work ethic and respect is always what Sheri appreciates in individual that works alongside her. Sheri couldn't even picture this side of character in Monica.

Sheri's stomach felt sick at the thought of having to work with Monica. But what else could she do...

The Governor wanted to add 300 to 500 students at one time to her school. King Robert Andrews's population was already slightly under 2400 students and the school was big enough for about 300-350 more to fit comfortably at a "gradual increase" without overcrowding. But 500... Maybe there could be some form of negotiations...

Then again with the extra students means Sheri is no longer faced with the difficult decision of removing seven staff members due to overstaffing. The removal of extra staff was not due for next year, which would be extremely tear-filled because her employees were like a family at King Robert Andrews High School. They were so close and worked so in sync that all issues that Sheri had at her school were not that difficult and definitely could be handled. So having the added students would help her avoid this fate of her beloved coworkers. The more she thought about the possibility of keeping all her staff, she started to feel better about the idea of taking in the refugee students.

"Maybe I'm overreacting..." Sheri whispered to her self as she fixed herself in the mirror. She couldn't help but admire how good she looked. No wonder the Governor couldn't help himself earlier, she thought to herself. Sheri shuddered at the memory, then made her way out the bathroom.

When Sheri stepped out, she yelped as she was quickly grabbed and dragged from the side into an office. When the door was closed, Sheri slapped away the hands that had a hold on her.
