Chapter 6 - Festival of spirits

Oh, what's that noise, said Shinku whilst looking at the envelope. Oh crap, I'm gonna be late for the festival. I completely forgot about the festival of Cena.

*Knock*Knock*, someone is at the door. "Shinku!!!", ????? called. When I opened the door I saw none other than my good friend Akio. He stared down at me since he was taller than me and a lot more muscular than me. He was dressed up in traditional wear and had a Shakujō (a staff topped with metal rings traditionally carried by Buddhist monks) in his right hand.

"Don't you know what today is!!", he exclaimed. "Yea, today is the festival", I replied. " So what are you still doing in those clothes, it is already 9 am!!", he shouted. "Why are you shouting, it's just you and me here and since when you became a traditional person", I said.

I changed into my traditional wear and we took off to the festival. We gathered in the middle of town to start off the festival, then we all headed to the different burial grounds that our respective families were laid to rest. Then the spirits of the buried corpses started to come out of the ground as sphere-shaped balls of light.

Then they stay above the grave hence Cena being a planet with many gifts like our cenits, it is powered by none other than the deceased as their power remains which keeps a trace of their soul and once a year on this day this miraculous event takes place.

I live technically alone because my aunt is often out doing her job but I know my parent's burial spot but I never saw a sphere of light on my father's grave.

" I think I should get going", said Sarah. "Later, Sarah!!", shouted Akio. "Akio I think I should get going as well because I'm a bit tired", I said. " Ok, later Shinku!!", shouted Akio.

As I arrived home, I felt more lonely than usual. I picked up the black and red envelope and before I knew it I slept away.
