Bellatrix Black gazed at her mother's black coffin as it sat waiting to be set in the ground. A tear had run down her face just to be rubbed off again as Bellatrix rubbed her eyes with the sleeve of her cloak.
She turned her head to look up into her father's face. He had placed a gentle hand on his daughter's shoulder as he watched over the grave along with Bellatrix. His eyes were red and filled with tears. He held the hand of his six-year-old daughter, Andromeda, whose face had shown more sorrow than anyone else.
The four-year-old, Narcissa was confused about what had happened, since she was too young to understand. Narcissa stood by her oldest sister and kept looking up into her family's grim faces.
Bellatrix had known exactly what had happened. She had witnessed it as she was having her usual tea and brunch with her mother like she did every summer midday. Bellatrix had watched as her mother had fallen onto the floor, poisoned by the tea. The tea had held a herb that was poisonous to anyone who ate or drank it. Mistaken to be a common sage. The only reason that Bellatrix had lived was that she had not even taken a sip of her tea, being too busy eating.
Bellatrix looked around at everyone who had come to say a farewell to Druella. It was a loss that would change everything for the Black Family.
Bellatrix would never be the happy eight-year-old girl she once was after what had happened. The playful afternoons that she had spent in the garden with her sisters would soon come to an end and be replaced by spending most of the days inside, closed away from the bright daylight. Even though Bellatrix was not even the age of ten, she felt as if her childhood had come to an end. She had cared about her mother more than her two sisters. She would always try and prove her loyalty to her mother.
Bellatrix looked down at Narcissa who stood by her legs. Narcissa watched as Bellatrix didn't smile as she usually did when the made eye contact. Instead, her face was blank, and her eyes welled with tears. Thunder could be heard crashing down on the valleys afar. This had made Narcissa jump and grab onto her sister's cloak. Bellatrix continued to be silent, as did everyone else. If only Bellatrix had stopped her mother from drinking the tea, everything would be happy and bright again, but it would be too dangerous to change the past now.
Andromeda had soon looked into her two sisters faces and moved closer to them, so she was standing beside Bellatrix and Narcissa. The three sisters would learn a lesson from that day forward, a lesson that taught them that even in the darkest moments they could only stick together if they trusted each other. At that moment they did trust each other, as they shared the same heartbreak. Nothing would ever be the same for the sisters.
