- One month later -
I heard the gurgling in the sky along with the flash of lightning striking somewhere east, perhaps far or closer than I thought. I listened to it but couldn't catch a glimpse or even feel the light blinding my sight. All I saw was the rain splashing on the windows. I saw it gathering in pools in the wet road below, running down into roadside gutters.
I pressed my lips together. My thoughts wandered back a little bit to the past. Last week, it had been raining as well. I had been at home, in the same spot, staring at the water gliding down the windows. A book in my hands and a well-brew cappuccino on the coffee table. I had frowned as I glanced at the time in my phone.
