After I had gotten out of the room, I was immediately greeted by the sight of General Zhu. I turned around to seek for Oniisan. Unfortunately, he hadn't come out of the room yet.
"Li Fei, is it?" a gruff voice echoed from the back.
I flinched and turned my head around. In the moment of my distraction, I didn't notice General Zhu had arrived before me. I glanced up to see his sharp gaze shot at me and his rigid posture making him all the more intimidating. However, a smile blossomed on his face in the next second.
"I'm sorry that you have such a father. But, you're better off without him," he said as he pat my shoulder. "You were very brave, Young lady."
Then, he proceeded to laugh like a proud dad. He seemed to be more satisfied than I did. I couldn't help but be amused. We ended up laughing together.
