"Do you miss me?"
He had been gone for five days and four nights before that question slipped through his mouth. Business trip, he had told me. Where? I had asked. London was his answer. When? Tomorrow. I had been surprised by this sudden trip of his. It would be a lie if I had said I was not curious because I was. Weirdly anxious too.
When I had peeled my eyes from my reading, I had seen the frown on his temple and his hollow eyes down to his pressed lips, displaying his contempt and maybe some repressed anger. The expression on his face had been the same color as the deepening dark outside the flat.
"What's wrong?" I had asked. And in a flash, his expression changed to a loving kind look. It was quite interesting, I had thought.
"What?" he had asked me back, confused. I had pursed my lips. Turned out, he had had his mind somewhere. But, what could make him so displeased? I had never seen that kind of look on him and I didn't think I liked it.
