white steam began to develop the area like a puff of cloud engulfing the sky, a man cloth in black and a woman in a maid uniform equipped in weapons like a walking armory

as fast as what seemingly was light, both of them were decapitated without another word

both of them bow and began to look for clothes appropriate for me

gathering information is vital right now, we need to escape before my captor arrives.

immediately after, a couple of men blocked the way, they seem to be guards of my captor... and a prestigious one too
"We can't let you escape, we have called for backup so I suggest returning to your cell otherwise we'll get rough with you"
"Rohel, Maya, can you two dispatch them?"
"yes my lady, by your orders we'll kill even the highest of gods"
"then kill them both, capture my captor if they somehow show up"

they both began to decapitate every single being here, some have bowed to them asking for mercy, some live, some die but it's their decision, not mine.
"my Lady, my Ether is running out"
"same with me... I can't display my full power and somehow I feel like this area is disrupting it"
they showed me their magic briefly and they were right, someone must be disrupting their ether and it's probably someone strong enough to affect both Rohel and Maya...
"then as a safety measure, use the least amount of ether as possible, we'll use the route you two showed me, avoid fighting and just keep running"

as soon as I commanded the order the three of us dashed through the hallway.
I slipped accidentally and a few guards eventually caught up
"Maya! protect Lady Theia!"

shortswords and poisoned needles struck each soldier's vital points, killing all of them instantly
"Are you alright my Lady?"
"I'm fine, I'm fine... Rohel, sorry for commanding you this, please carry me, I'm afraid I have injured my ankle"

he picked me up and both of them darted through the hallway ignoring everything on sight.
eventually, the prince was waiting right outside of the building, with a sinister smile he stepped forward
"boy this is a turn of events, who knew the girl I captured was this powerful... if only you didn't wake up... then I could be the most powerful Elf in Maritika!"
"My Lady, I can't use my skills right now, I'm gonna have a hard time with this"
"then Rohel, create a clone and search a way to escape"

an invisible clone appeared... somewhat
"I see... so the three of you are spirits? what a great catch! with the three of you not only will I be the most powerful elf in existence but a god! soldiers! capture them!"
upon order, all of the soldiers charged right in, Maya was able to defend herself and Rohel was able to fight even while still holding me
"My Lady! I'm sorry but we can't fight them all off!"
"Forgive me, my Lady, it seems that we have failed you again... Maya, please live for the sake of our Lady"
Maya responds with a determined nod. Rohel jumps to the roof of the building and ran roof to roof.
"Rohel, was there a plan on that decision?"
"yes, my Lady, Maya will evaporate into mist once she has exhausted enough ether or has gathered enough blood to perform the skill, she is in no risk of dying. and also, I am constantly in link with her so if she is in danger then she would've told me otherwise"
"you all seem prepared, I'm... sorry for risking both of you like that..."

we stopped for the time being, hidden in the crowds with clothing to blend in
"My Lady, Maya has stated that she has completed her duty and will now go in our direction, any more further orders?"
"yes, ask around town about areas here in this world, it might help in what place we are currently"

we began walking with my arm crossed with his to balance myself.
we asked for directions, time and what the place is, I think I remembered that elf saying that we're in Maritika... that's not a place where Laplace is... is this-?
"My Lady... I'm afraid that we are not in Laplace, the areas around this city don't correlate with what I know"
"agreed... for now we'll go to the port near here, I doubt he'll search for us there"
I heard the port is mostly used as an adventurers bay or a place to sell potions and spirit lights so we'll take a rest there
"do we still have no connection with Mei?"
"afraid not my Lady, it seems by being in a different world, our connection with Mei was cut off, for now, we'll just wait until they see us here"
just after his explanation, Maya condensed back from the mist and bowed to me
"my sincerest apologies for not being able to capture the prince my Lady"
"everything is forgiven, we can deduce that this world does not mix well with our ether so our capabilities are drastically cut short, I'll have to train both of you and create a new set of crystals, I can still use your untapped ether to crystalize as weapons so all is well"
they both nod and we began to journey to the port. the travel isn't that long and a carriage would've been faster but it doesn't rise to mystandards, I'd rather walk

we might've been lucky that we escaped but we escaped at a wrong time...
"my Lady, we're sorry for our situation right now"
"don't be, I could've been kidnapped again if we stayed any longer, well it's time to prepare for the night, cook up anything for us to survive and create a makeshift bed for us"

they both look at each other and smile with a "Yes, my Lady" and leave me for the meantime...

the night strikes and I started to cover myself in Maya's remaining clothing. with the 3 shining moons around us in the sky, Rohel started to cook what both of them hauled. Since we didn't want anybody discovering our position, we hid in a nearby forest and made a passage for the smoke of the campfire so that we don't show our place. what's left is to go to the port where we destined ourselves to go to as a safe haven for now and gather information once my whole ordeal is done.
"My Lady, what are we going to do now?"
"Since we can't contact anybody here then the best we could do is ask for help from Mei's kind"
"anomalies? my Lady, please refrain from doing that, I can't protect you while in this state I'm afraid..."
"anomalies hide in the first place, they don't display their strength or power or tell the world that they are anomalies and if spotted then the most likely is the death of the person who discovered it"
"in our state, we are otherworlders like France is, if we want to survive then in the meantime we'll gather information. anomalies are the only being in time and space to travel to different worlds and dimensions so asking them to transport us is best"
both of them look at each other, confirming what I have said and analyzing if such a situation was executed. with a sigh, they bowed to me with "as you wish, my Lady" and began to scout the area to confirm if we truly are alone in this forest, of course, we're not people who originally live here so only capturing or spying on other people is the wisest course of action, I can't kill people who haven't threatened me just out of safety, even if they look like thugs.
"I'll be sleeping now. Maya, Rohel, be careful and don't die, your punishments will be held in our world not here"
