Hearing the wind bellowing and the cold icicles freezing on the edge of the roof. It was fine day, but it was cold. Keiko was busy typing away her chapters. Her best known book was 'The Emperor' which was a story about broken hearted romance. Oh how Keiko hated romance since the incident. Keiko hated love because it was all lies.
Lies that never meant anything but to hurt someone. Simply, she just wrote a book, published it online, then there was her full time job. Keiko even starved herself for a few days just by the stress of writers' block. Luckily, her friend, Chennie was there for her.
"Open this damn door Keiko!" Chennie was banging on her door.
Scurrying over, Keiko check her security camera doorbell, and opened the door. She saw Cheenie carrying a bag of takeout and a cup holder of coffee.
"You need to eat you hermit crab!" Chennie quickly took out the food and almost shoved it down Keiko.
"Hermit crab?" Keiko asked as she chewed politely.
"Yes, hermit crab! You lock yourself inside everyday just because of your writing!" Chennie joined in eating to calm down.
"It's my job Chennie, and I love my job." Keiko sipped her warm coffee.
Chennie got up and noticed one of the weapons of a vampire hunter. "We're going tonight? Again?" Chennie sighed.
Keiko pushed up her glasses, "Its for the sake of the people Chennie, we must protect them."
"Fine! As long as we can get a good one." Chennie grinned.
After a delicious meal, Keiko immediately hopped on her chair and went to typing. Until, Chennie stopped her from typing.
"Not so fast, hermit. We have to review the statistics." Chennie pressed a control then a board appeared.
"We got most of the vampire population, so I think we're good." Keiko noticed the giant pie chart.
"I heard there's a mafia gang full of vampires. Mainly, they protect each other from hunters." Chennie tried to spill the tea.
"Excellent, we find them tonight then." Keiko cracked her knuckles.
"Nope! We are not risking it. You are one of our top hunters Keiko, we can't lose you." Chennie started to get emotional.
"Ugh, you're such a baby. That's why you have a low ranking." Keiko teased.
"Just because I missed the test dummy, doesn't mean I'm a bad hunter!"
"You nearly killed Jian!" Keiko defended.
"Oh geez! He's basically a hunk of hotness and very skillful." Chennie eyes gleamed.
As one of Keiko's eyes twitched, observed her surroundings.
"What's wrong Keiko?"
"I can sense that one is nearby." Keiko observed.
