Chapter 26 - Moving Onward

Pow! Pow!

The sound of heavy clobbing could be heard resounding. From the other side of the golden fists, a number of monsters corpses could be seen lying on top of another.

It appeared that every monster died with just a single attack from the clear wound seen on their bodies. Even though the monsters were different, each of them had a fist-shaped wound in the same spot, not a millimeter different from another.

One could see that the person who dealt with the monsters had great precision and control over his own strength.

Pow! Pow!

A few more monsters landed on top of the mountain of bodies before they all turned to dust all at the same time. Even though they died at different times, the bodies didn't disperse in said order.

Instead, they somehow turned to dust with the exact same timing. Such a feat requires extreme control and precision.

Suddenly, a young man with tied up blue hair and piercings on his left ear landed on the ground near the previous mountain of corpses.

The young man's body was glowing in a dark gold aura. When he landed, the aura disappeared as though it were drawn back into his body.

On his shoulder, a small blue slime with a crown on its head was jumping up and down.

The young man rubbed its head with his index finger.

"Raimu, are you ready to head up further?"

As if it could understand what the young man was saying, it replied with, 'Pii, pii' sounds before going into hiding.

The young man started heading in a single direction. The surrounding monsters kept away after seeing their friends turning to dust.

The young man looked up in the sky.

His mouth opened as he spoke.

Oh wait, that young man is me, haha.

Isn't it creepy to start narrating the story like that? Let's stop that now and continue to what you're all used to.

After defeating monsters from the eleventh floor and onwards, I arrived on the twentieth floor after just three hours.

Opening the door, a large monster could be seen. Of course, this monster is the floor boss. Just in case you forgot, every ten floors of a dungeon, there is a floor boss.

Typical of an RPG game right?

Anyway, the boss is a strange one. Being a mix of a fish and some kind of slime monster. The boss is a floating fish with long whiskers and a slime-like floatie around its body. Wait a minute, isn't that a copyright infringement?

Hello? Is this the popo?

Anyway, the boss isn't all that strong. Even though it's a fish, it uses its long whiskers to control things. That's right, telekinesis or psychic powers.

Though I may say that, it can only control boulders and small living things, besides the fact that it's a little troublesome and can fly, that's pretty much it.

In other words, I can beat the thing pretty quickly as long as I can land a solid hit on it. The boss stared at me as its eyes glew brightly while boulders, as well as rubble, started floating behind it.

The rubble numbered in the hundreds, the boulders only had dozens or so, each of them was about half a meter' in diameter.

The rubble was sent directly at me with full force, while the boulders remained behind. It seems the boss is pretty smart, I thought.

Surrounding my body with dark-golden magic, I prevented the rubble from doing me any harm. The rubble collided against each other and broke apart, forming smaller pieces as a tornado of rubble started forming.

It seems like it wants to rip me to pieces through the shredding force of the tornado. Suddenly, the boulders appeared from multiple directions.

Thanks to my sharp senses, I could tell the general direction of them. Raimu who was hiding inside my clothes jumped out and expanded its body.

The boulders that were coming for me were absorbed into its body before being sent flying back out. Huh, it seems Raimu has some sort of counter-attack ability.

I clenched my fist and punched the ground hard. The floor cracked as if a meteor had crashed into it. The wind pressure from my fists alone disrupted the flow of the tornado of rubble.

I jumped through the tornado and headed for the boss. Even though it could fly, it wasn't exactly fast. It this was the game, it wouldn't even be able to move and would only be able to dodge thanks to coding and rng.

Since I was much faster than it, I appeared right beside it in an instant. I did a simple punch that made contact with its body.

A soft squishy feeling enveloped my fist.

The boss exploded on contact in that very moment. The rubble and boulders that had no more support crashed into the ground slowly.

A chest appeared at the very end of the room towards the door to the next floor. I opened it and took the potions inside before heading to the next floor which is a safe zone.

By the time I opened the door, it was beginning to turn dark. I checked the time to make sure, before finding a place to settle down for the night.

So far a day has passed since I entered the dungeon. If I keep plowing through like this, I'll probably be done in three days at most… But if I don't then I won't have anything to do when I'm bored besides training…

Well, guess I'll spend the next two days training then.

And just like that, I spent the next two days doing push-ups, sit-ups, squats and various other workouts including cardio such as running fifty kilometers per day.

At night, I would spend my time working out or meditating. Unfortunately, this wasn't like the mansion with a waterfall for me to sit under. There wasn't a beautiful senpai for me to train with either.

I had pretty much gotten used to that everyday lifestyle, and now it feels somewhat odd as if something were missing.

On the fourth day, I finally started heading towards the thirtieth floor. Of course, I made sure to slow down a notch and only killed the monsters that attacked me.

Moving onward, I took my time to spend over two hours on each floor. By the time I reached the twenty-fifth floor, half a day had passed already.

The monsters starting from the twenty-second floor had long changed. The biome was jungle-like with monsters such as apes, carnivorous plants to snakes and bugs.

Each of them died only after a single punch at maximum strength so I had to lower it down to one percent in order to enjoy the fight more.

It was truly a difference, with just five percent, a single hit was all it took. At one percent, it required dozens of hits in order to kill just one monster. One could really see the difference in floors now.

One time on the twenty-fourth floor, I was surrounded by dozens of monsters at once. I pummeled some of them before a bunch jumped on top of me.

Being hardly able to move, I unleased my maximum strength all at once, blowing the monsters far off my body. It was like a scene you would see in an action movie or anime.

After blowing them away, I jumped in the air and punched downward in the air. Hmm, this move seems familiar…

Anyway, when I landed, my entire body was like a meteor coming down to the Earth. The nearby monsters in the vicinity were blown away while the trees were snapped in half while the floor caved in.

That's interesting, the floor is supposed to be pretty hard…

Oh well, let's go to the next floor.
