"What?" I ask, still not able to process the news.
The men jumped to action, leaving us girls to tend to Matthew's wound. Nat is forcing Matt to lay down while Sophie is pushing a piece of cloth to his side. Nat is trying to keep him calm as Sophie tries to stop the bleeding. Suddenly, I hear a scream coming from out back. Without thinking, I run downstairs and out onto the porch.
"No!" I scream as I see a gray wolf with a reddish tint chasing Asher and the little girl.
I hop off the porch landing behind them as the wolf swipes his massive paw at them. Screaming in pain as I feel his claws dig across my back, I pick up the kids running for the stairs. Sitting them down on the stairs, I tell them to run up to Landon's room. I'm hit from the side as the wolf slams his body into me. I tumble across the back yard until I hit something with my side.
A pair of cold hands wrap around my arm as they drag me up to my feet. The cold hands belong to a rogue vampire that has blood red eyes and blood dripping from his fangs. Panic swells in me as he smiles evilly at me. The scream that was forming in my lungs is cut off by his teeth sinking deep into my throat. Anger in myself and for this monster fills every cell of my body.
Suddenly, he drops me and starts screaming in pain. I look up from my knees just in time to see him gagging on my blood as he falls to the ground dead. The wolf howls in anguish, causing me to turn around, as its angry eyes lock on to mine. A searing pain in my back causes me to scream again as the wolf pounces. Holding out my hands to try to block it, I watch as black tendrils shoot out my hands knocking into the wolf midair.
Out of the corner of my eyes, I see three more wolves like the first one rushing towards me. Turning slightly, I try to do the same thing with the first wolf but nothing happened. The searing pain in my back intensifies causing another ear piercing scream from me. The anger pushes me to stand as the wolves approach me with the intent to kill. Slight pain erupts in my mouth as I feel my canines extent. I smirk at them, tempting them to try, as arrogance fills me.
One of the wolves lunge at me, aiming for my left arm. Dodging, I wrap my arms around its neck while hoping on its back sinking my teeth into its neck. As the blood pours into my mouth I gulp greedily draining the wolf of its life. The wolf shifts back into its human form as I turn back to the remaining two.
Both pounce at me this time, thinking they had the upper hand with numbers on their side. The pain in my back explodes causing me to drop to my hands as they fly over me. Tingles replace the pain as their bodies thud on the ground behind me. Looking over my shoulder, I see their dead bodies before the pair of light gray feathered wings that is dripping with their blood.
"Andi?"
Hissing, I spin towards the voice ready for a fight. I see Nat and Sophie being held back by Marc and Jacob. Laney was holding onto Landon's arm as if trying to stop him from approaching me. Exhaustion overwhelms me as everything starts to turn black.
"Andi!"
~⛥§⛥~
"Well, then," I hear Jaxson's voice through the darkness. "If you don't want to go see the bodies we will just tell you."
"It seems that her blood was what caused the rogue vamp to die," Marc's voice appears next.
"Seriously!" Jaxson damn near screams. "Her blood had melted his throat!"
A soft chuckle fills my ears, sending my heartbeat on a frenzy. Warmth shoots up my arm as I feel a slight squeeze on my hand. I fight to open my eyes as light coming from a window makes it hard. My eyelids flutter open as I grab the hand holding mine.
"Landon?" I ask hoarsely.
"I'm right here, love," he says squeezing my hand again.
"Asher!" I scream trying to get up.
"Love, he's gone," he says trying to stop me. "The rogues got him and Annabeth."
Not listening, I pull the IV out of my arm and rush out the room. Running down the hall, I hear Landon yelling after me. Heading out a door, I notice I'm on the first floor of the house. Running past the living room towards the stairs, I see Laney and another woman crying on the couch. Bolting up the stairs, I run into Landon's room.
"Asher!" I howler. "Honey, it's alright to come out."
"Andi!" Landon pants following me into the room.
"Shhh!" I hush him. "Asher, honey please, it's safe now."
Landon places his hand on my shoulder trying to show his sympathy as panic starts to rise within me. And I was about to lose hope thinking that Landon was telling the truth, when a creak from the closet door echoes through the silent room. A little head peeks out from behind the door.
"Andi?" Asher's green eyes brighten as he sees me, "Andi!"
"Asher," I cry as he leaps into my arms.
Annabeth comes running out after him, hugging me around the arm. Landon picks her up as a rush of people run into the room. Laney's face brightens as she sees her son. Same with the other woman about her daughter. The parents take their kids, leaving Landon and I alone in the room.
Slightly scared of what his reaction will be about my fight with the rogues, I shift uncomfortably to face him. "I'm sorry," I whisper as I look at my feet instead of his intimidating gaze.
"For what? Saving my nephew and his friend? For protecting yourself?"
I can't help but look at him now in complete shock. 'This coming from the man who had yelled at me for tempting a vamp earlier.' Though before I can say anything, he pulls me close to him so he can capture my lips with his. When he pulls away he takes my hand leading me to the closet.
"We have to go discuss the rogues with Jaxson so you should change," he points towards my outfit.
The shirt was barely staying on as it threatens to fall off my shoulder. Quickly running into the closet, I throw off the torn shirt and put on a black long sleeve. We head to his office after I change out of my blood covered jeans. To a white skirt with black lace flowers on the trim that hangs just below my knees. Walking into his office, I watch as Jaxson and a little old lady with white hair argue over something.
"That doesn't explain why they were working together," Jaxson continues to argue as we walk around the desk.
"No but it explains why they were here in the first place," the lady counters.
"Are you two done?" Landon asks while sitting in his chair.
Taking a seat in a chair next to the window, I glance outside. I watch as Jacob and a couple other guys spray the lawn down with hoses. Trying to wash the blood from the rogues away. 'And my blood too, I guess.' A chuckle rings in my ears, so I glance around trying to see where it came from. No one else was in the room and the only three that were there were deep in conversation. 'So where did it come from?'
'Silly girl,' a musical feminine voice chuckles. 'Where do you think?'
Staring at the three, I notice that they don't hear the voice. So the only explanation is that it's in my head.
'Good girl, now you're thinking.'
'Who are you?' I ask her, slightly stunned.
'I'm you, well a part of you I should say.'
'What do you want?'
'Just to keep you, I mean us, safe.'
'Why are you here?'
'Cause you woke me up,' she sneers.
"What do you mean I woke you up?"
Realizing that I had said that out loud, I glance over to three sets of curious eyes on me. Landon has turned his chair to face me. He and Jaxson have leaned back in their seats almost like they have been watching me for a while. The older lady's face is scrunched up like she is thinking really hard.
"Love?" Landon asks, snapping my attention to him.
"Huh?"
"Who are you talking to?"
"Uhh… I'm not sure," I answer truthfully. "She has stopped talking to me."
"She?" Jaxson grasps her attention causing her to fight for control over my body.
"Yeah, pretty boy," she sneers at him baring my elongated canines, "she. You got a problem with that?"
"Andi?" Landon starts to stand up.
"She's not here right now. May I take a message?" She retorts.
'Stop it! Give me back my body!'
"Then who are you?" He pauses in confusion after standing.
"Me? Names are so overrated. Though I can be anyone or anything you want me to be, Alpha." She teases while looking him over appreciatively.
His eyes flash gold as he struggles to fight his wolf for control. Just over his shoulder I catch my reflection in a mirror hanging above the fireplace next to the couch. Stunned, I barely notice that it's me staring back. My once silvery blue eyes are now a purple color with a bright blue ring on the inside and a bright red ring around the outer part of my iris. My hair is still black as night though now I have two streaks of white that weave throughout the black sea.
Before I can think, somehow, I'm standing in front of the mirror. Running my hand along the white streaks, I feel myself gaining control. Turning around to face the three, I find them just as shocked as I am. I had somehow made it across the room in a blink of an eye without realizing it until now. Staring at Landon, I try to process everything that just happened.
"What the fuck just happened?" Jaxson is the first to ask the question that has been hanging in the air.
"I'm not sure but I think we found out why the demon is after her," the older lady answers.
"Explain, Meredith," Landon orders.
"Well, from all the stories I've heard about them," Meredith starts. "There is one thing that sticks out the most. And that is they are extremely strict when it comes down to their breeding. Basically, they're Purrists."
"Meaning?" I ask, still not understanding.
She looks me in the eyes as she says, "Meaning, my dear, that the demon's after you because you are part demon."
"That's impossible," I chuckle a little bit, finding this hilarious. "This has to be a joke, right? I mean yea, I've been hunted down by something I couldn't explain for every day these past six years of my life," I start ranting. "Only to find out by a werewolf, who happens to be my mate, that a demon is my stalker. And that he is hunting me to kill me, which I already knew he wants to do. But because I am also a demon?" I start to panic, then I notice that I have started to pace. "This can't be for real. I need some air."
I rush out of the house while others call out from behind me, but I pay no attention to any of them as I make my way outside. Before I know it I'm back in the meadow. Dammit! I must have teleported again. I look around and notice my pack of cigarettes on the ground next to the rock. Walking over to it, I pick it up and pull a cigarette out. It's a good thing I always keep a spare lighter in my bras for moments like this.
You really are a prepared bitch.
"It's you again," I sigh. "What do you want now?"
I just want to talk. Probably get to know you a bit.
"What do you mean 'get to know' me? Aren't you also me?"
Well yes, but also no. Think of me as a split personality.
"Split personality?" I ask, confused by the way she would put it.
'We both have our own character traits. Like, you are a bit of a push over.'
"And you're a stuck up bitch?"
'Excuse me! I'm not the one that wants you dead!'
"No but you are a demon, are you not?"
'Yes, but if you die I die and I don't want that. So we have to work together and get to know each other. That way we can survive.'

It has been three weeks since the incident in the office. And I have come to terms with the fact that my own kind wants me dead. But the word 'part' still stumps me. Though Meredith is going through all of the ancient text to figure out what the other part might be. Landon and Jaxson are actually working together to ask around trying to find someone who might know something. Even though they haven't found anything, I still remain faithful that something will turn up.
Shortly after the incident, Sophie and Nat convinced me to name my demon. She got increasingly annoyed as the girls started spitting out names. She was so tempted to ripe the two she-wolves heads right off, when Sophie cried out Evangeline. A serene sense of calm rushed through me and she agreed. Though she told me to call her Eva unless I was in trouble.
Eva was always on edge when around others, snapping at simple questions, causing me to apologize for her. Then she would chastise me for tolerating others stupidity, though she adores Asher. When he visits me, Eva constantly asks me when we were going to have one of our own. For the most part I ignore her, but when she starts flashing naughty pictures of me and Landon it gets pretty hard.
I try really hard to fight the attraction I have for Landon, so I can get to know him better. But every time I look at him I have to fight Eva from jumping his bones. 'Now I know how he feels whenever his eyes flash gold.' She has caused me to go into panic attacks with some of her thoughts. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not a virgin but some of her thoughts would make a prostitute blush. 'If not, then definitely charge extra.'
But as I lay here in this empty bed, I can't help but yearn for him. It has only been three days since Landon has left with Jaxson to visit a Wiccan clan in Chicago. Though to Eva it feels like an eternity as she constantly asks me when he plans on returning. Which she is about to ask again when she suddenly just stops talking and starts pacing in the back of my mind.
Crawling out of bed, I finally decide to get up and hop in the shower. After 20 minutes of just standing under the steaming stream, I quickly wash myself to get out. Wrapping myself up in the towel, I walk into the room to head to the closet. Though as I step out of the bathroom, the bedroom door flies open startling me. I freeze as a tall shadow steps into the room. Golden eyes lock onto mine as the door swings shut.
"Landon," I whisper as we close the gap between us.
As his lips land on mine, I wrap my arms around his neck melting into his body. All the want and need that I had been feeling melts away as he deepens the kiss. He nips at my bottom lip, asking for entrance which I give willingly. Tugging on his hair, I'm rewarded with a slight growl as he squeezes my ass lifting me off the floor.
Wrapping my legs around his torso, he walks over to the bed sitting down so I'm on his lap. I can feel the bulge in his jeans press against my sensitive area making Eva purr with pleasure. As our kiss heats up, I feel his control slipping from his grasp. Growling, he flips me onto my back as he slips his knees between my legs, never breaking the kiss. I tug at the hem of his shirt trying to pull it off.
Pulling back, he quickly removes his shirt before glancing down at me. A blush spreads across my face as I realize that I'm still only in a towel. Smirking, he quickly pulls the towel out from under me. Feeling exposed, I try to get under the blankets though Landon has other ideas. Grabbing my ankles, he slides me back to the edge of the bed where he is now kneeling.
"You know," he says against my thigh as he kisses my inner leg, "you smell delectable." He works his way up ever so slightly. "Good enough to eat."
I gasp in pleasure as Landon's mouth makes contact with my throbbing mound. His tongue dart in and out causing my head to spin as waves of pleasure racks my body. Greedily, he drinks from me as if he had been deprived of water while he was gone. My body spasms as wave upon wave crashes around me sending me closer to my release. He growls as my hand works its way through his hair.
Next thing I know, I'm being drowned in pleasure as I climax in his mouth. Smirking, he kisses his way up my body as the gold in his eyes brighten. He pauses in his advances to give my breasts the same attention. I'm completely breathless as he makes his way to my neck where he nibbles. With my head spinning, I can't take anymore torture.
"Please," I breathlessly whisper.
"Please what?" He smirks while leaning back to look at me.
"Please Alpha," Eva smirks as I give her slight control to get what we both want.
Kicking off his jeans, he places me in the middle of the bed as he crawls back in between my legs. Slight pressure against my mound makes the spinning in my head intensify. His velvety lips find their way back to my neck as he hovers over me. Bending my knees, I rub my legs against his causing him to tremble in my hold.
"Please, Alpha what?" He whispers in my ear causing a shiver to run down my spine.
"Please, Alpha, make love to me."
~§~
Warmth all around me makes me want to slip back into the darkness of sleep. Though a pounding on the door says otherwise. Opening my eyes, I find myself sprawled out on top of Landon's chest with our legs tangled around each other. Gently, I crawl out of bed making sure not to wake him. Throwing on his shirt, I peek my head out the door to see who has interrupted my sleep.
"Meredith?" I find her presence a shock since I haven't seen her since the incident. "How can I help you?"
"Well, I was hoping to talk to Alpha Landon," she says. "Is he available?"
Glancing over my shoulder, he is still sleeping peacefully. "Not right now, but if you give me a few minutes you can talk to me. If you'd like?"
"That's fine. I'll be in his office," she says walking away.
Running into the closet, I throw on a pair of underwear before some jeans and a bra under his shirt. He's still sleeping soundlessly as I walk through the room to the door. Heading to Landon's office, I notice Jaxson walking out of a room a few doors before. He smiles widely at me as his gaze goes to my neck where I'm pretty sure Landon had left a love bite.
"Nice hickey," he chuckles as he falls in step with me.
"Shut up." I smack him in the arm before moving my hair to block his view.
"What?" He chuckles again, "It's nice to know he's finally getting somewhere."
"Whatever," I brush past him through the door of the office.
Laughing, he follows behind me as we sit around the table on the left side of the room. Meredith is looking through an ancient looking book. I watch as she flips through the pages carefully until she finally stops almost to the end.
"Here it is," she says pushing it towards Jaxson.
"Do you mind if I ask what exactly you wanted to talk about?" I ask as he starts reading the page.
"I've found something very interesting about what had happened to the demon hundreds of years ago. And how they were sent to Hell in the first place," Meredith explains.
"All this is saying is that beautiful creatures of light came down to cast the darkness from the lands," Jaxson says looking up from the book.
"Give that to me!" She snatches the book back before reading, "Beautiful creatures of blue light came down from above on their white feathered wings to cast the darkness from the lands to where they belonged. The angels of our hearts with their pure auras sacrificed their brilliant blue light to rid this world of the dark creatures that sought to destroy it. No one knows if any remain, though the few who were graced with their presence describe them as easily the most beautiful creatures in the world."
Both of their eyes lock onto mine as she reads the last sentence.
"What?" I ask, a little uncomfortable with the attention.
"Umm… I've got nothing." He looks at Meredith, "How do you think I should explain it without getting my head torn off by the king."
"Wait! What?" I ask, completely shocked.
"Landon's not just any other alpha," he easily explains, "he's 'The Alpha'. The one the entire race has to answer to. Like me with the vampires."
He smirks at me, getting rewarded with a smack to the back of the head by Meredith.
"I'm not a vampire or a werewolf, but I will not let you flirt with 'The Luna'." Then she turns to me, "Honey, I think that this page is saying that angels were what locked the demons away in hell."
But with the way they keep looking at me I feel like they have something more to share. "Okay, but it also said that no one knows if there are any still alive," I say. "So we're going to have to figure something else out."
They look at each other which causes my uneasiness to turn to panic. 'Yep definitely panicking!' They turn their sympathetic gaze back to me just as the door bust open. Landon is standing in the doorway wearing only a pair of jeans with a panicked look on his face. But they are unfazed as Meredith takes hold of my hand as Jaxson delivers the final blow.
"We think you are part angel as well."
