"NO WAY!!!" yelled Meili. "you both can't get married." She plainly declared, leaving everyone else in the room stunned. Knocking her on her shoulder, Mother Sheng reprimanded her, "what nonsense are you talking. Why can't they get married? In fact, I am very happy that they are getting registered soon."
Correcting her former sentence, Meili said, "I mean they cannot marry before I get married. I want Jinjing to be the maid of honor." Knocking her shoulder once more, Mother Sheng said, "so what, she can be the matron of honor for you."
"oh come on mom! Can't you make out that I am just kidding?" Meili said, rubbing the spot where her mother hit her twice.
Getting the serious mood back, father Sheng said, "I am glad that you'll decide to get your marriage registered. We can have a grand wedding later." He suggested.
The delighted mother Sheng proposed, "yes! We all will accompany you both to the registration office. thereafter, both the families can go for a lunch to celebrate your union. We will also invite the Feng's."
Excitement filling her up, she jumped in her seat and looked at her husband before saying, "darling! We should make an official announcement of their registration and the impending wedding. I want the entire country to know that they are together. I don't want any more glitches."
Agreeing to his wife's suggestion, Mr. Sheng said, "yes! Don't worry we will release a statement to the press, informing about their marriage." All were in agreement to the elder's suggestion.
Liang was beaming with joy, whereas Jinjing could not help blush. Just then the maid came in to inform that dinner was served.
Thinking about her son getting married, Mother Sheng could not focus on her food. After every morsel, she would come up with a new suggestion. The rest watched her with a smile on their faces. The dinner ended on a happy note. Everyone retired to their rooms early, to be fresh for the big event tomorrow.
Jinjing decided to spend the night at her parent's, as this would be the last night before she got married and moved in with Liang. Initially, Liang was opposed to her idea, but her coaxing and kissing made him reluctantly agree.
Liang dropped Jinjing to the Lee residence, but held her back from leaving.
"Liang let me go…. I have to prepare for tomorrow." She pleaded for the nth time.
"some more time please…. Don't go. In fact, let's go back to our house. We can go to the bureau together tomorrow." He also pleaded for n plus one times.
"from tomorrow onwards, we will be living together as it is. Let me spend this night with my parents…. Hmmmm?" she tried to talk sense into him.
Liang pouted, visibly reluctant to let her go. Seeing that he was making up his mind, Jinjing said, "do you want me to come looking like a panda tomorrow? If you don't let me go now, I won't get my beauty sleep. Then your WIFE will have eye bags, would you like that?" she stressed on the word wife and played the emotional card.
It seemed to have worked, because Liang said, "okay go…." Jinjing pecked his cheek quickly and turned to go, "goodnight." Just then Liang held her hand and pulled her back.
"I am letting you go now, but this is the last time you will spend the night away from me. After this, I am not letting you go anywhere for even a day. Not even to your parent's." he warned her before kissing her fiercely. He finally let her go.
Jinjing stepped out of the car and entered the house. Waiting at the door she waved him goodbye and stayed there till his car was out of sight.
She went up to the room and selected a dress for the next day and went to take a shower.
