Liang stood there stunned. His eyes wide with amazement and his mouth slightly agape. He couldn't believe his eyes, he couldn't believe his good fortune, as he looked at the love of his life, his Jinjing, go down on one knee and hold her hand out for him.
When he tried to make her stand up, Jinjing denied stubbornly. She held on to his hands and without allowing him to disturb her, she spoke up first.
"Liang you are mine and only mine. I strongly believe that I was born to meet you and fall in love with you, and you were destined to be my one and only.
I have made many mistakes in our relation so far and so have you. But this moment forward, I want to let go off the past and give my everything to a brighter future, one in which we stay beside each other, drenched in love, forever and ever.
I have full faith in our relation and I trust you more than myself. I know no one can love me more than you and no one has power over me, more than you. I wish for you to combine the two and powerfully love me.
I will love you and cherish you always. Henceforth, my every waking moment, my every breath, my smile, my concern will be for you. My love, only for you."
Liang stood there feeling at a loss for words. His happiness today, knew no bounds. His eyes were glistening with happy tears. He could never think to love anyone ever. His heart beat only for Jinjing, it had space only for Jinjing. She ruled over his entire being, every cell in his body.
His hooded eyes grew big in surprise once again, when he saw Jinjing pull out a rectangular velvet box out from her trench coat pocket.
The moment she opened the box, he could believe what he was seeing. The box contained couple rings. The man's band was new but the woman's ring was familiar. It had to be, it was the same ring which he had gifted her on her birthday, on their passionate night, in this very house.
This woman before him, left him totally speechless. 'how did she manage….' before he could even complete the question in his mind, he already had the answer, 'my 'actress' sister.'
Even though he was overwhelmed with her gesture, he could not bear to have her kneel any longer. Holding her shoulders, he helped her stand up. Knowing well that her leg must have probably gone numb, he hugged her tightly for a little, before pulling back to take the rings from her hand.
Finally, getting the chance to talk since he arrived, before slipping the ring on her ring finger this time, Liang said, "will complete my life? will you give me the honor to cherish you till death do us apart? will you marry me Jinjing?"
Jinjing lovingly nodded her head and Liang put the ring on her finger. taking his ring out of the box, Jinjing put it on for him. Elated, Liang kissed her hand on the ring and swiftly picked her up by her waist and twirled around, making her chuckle. The duo twirled for a few times before coming to a dizzy halt, embracing each other.
Liang tucked his finger under her chin to guide her to look up to him. Locking eyes with her briefly, he pulled her in for a soft, slow burning kiss. Slowly burning like the fire within him.
But Jinjing was not done yet. She had more in store for him. She pulled away and guided him further in.
