one week later.
"finally I get to go home. I am done with hospitals." Liang complained to Jinjing, who was packing up all the stuff. After a stay of almost one month, Liang was finally going home. Even though he could have gotten discharged earlier, the Sheng family insisted on keeping him at the hospital for better recovery.
"yeah, it's been long that I slept in my soft bed. I am so looking forward to a hot water bath and a good night's sleep." Jinjing just mentioned her to do list, fleetingly. But a certain someone present in the room did not take it so lightly.
Testing the waters, he said "yeah, I know me too…. In fact, my bath tub is big enough to fit the two of us." Saying so, he was eagerly awaiting her reply.
Jinjing stopped doing what she was doing. After a tiny pause, she slowly turned around and said... rather corrected Liang, "I am talking about my bed and my bath tub."
Walking with the support of an elbow crutch, Liang limped closer to Jinjing and placing one hand on her shoulder he said, "Jinjing…. baby say that you don't mean what I think you actually mean…" his statement was as confused as he was. He was not asking Jinjing but somewhat retelling it to himself, till it sank in.
"No! no... no... no… you are not going anywhere alone. I am not letting you." a frantic Liang started tugging at Jinjing's hand, trying to keep her close to himself.
Attempting to pacify him, Jinjing explained, "Liang I have to go home. I have a home my parents are there and I can't come to your house…. Okay??" but her explanation only made it worse.
"no way, I have lived through hell for all this time…. I am not letting you go away even for a bit now… and besides, now I can't sleep without you next to me." Liang reasoned.
"Liang, baby…. How can I live at your place….? Please try to understand… hmmm?" but Liang seemed in no mood to relent.
Working a middle way, Jinjing suggested, "okay, first let's go to your house and then we can decide." Now this was something Liang easily agreed to.
Soon the inseparable couple, made their way to the Sheng mansion. Jinjing supported Liang out of the car and then into the house, while the butler and other maids helped with the luggage.
Mother Sheng was impatiently waiting for her son to return home. Currently, she was arranging for tea and snacks for a little party to celebrate Liang's recovery, when she heard him arrive. Quickly tiding herself up, she went out of the kitchen and hugged Liang, warmly. She was overwhelmed with happiness. Her precious son was back and healthy, she could not wish for anything more.
"Jinjing dear! Take a seat. Why are you standing on ceremony with me? This house is as much yours as it is Liang's. so don't hesitate…. Okay???" Mrs. Sheng lovingly declared.
Taking it from there, Liang immediately appended, "I was telling her the same... ma! She should stay here now." He looked at his mother for some support, so that he could keep Jinjing close to him. But, contrary to his expectations, his mother said, "well she cannot stay here." She paused. During the small pause, Liang felt as if his world came to an absolute halt.
Mother Sheng noticed his expression and found it amusing. Shaking her head, she added, "I mean… we will get her to stay here…. Lawfully and permanently." knowing his mother's intention, Liang was extremely delighted. He would have jumped up with joy, had his leg not been injured.
Continuing, Mother Sheng addressed Jinjing directly, "Jinjing hun! For that, Liang's father and I would like to meet up with your parents soon…." Cutting her off in excitement, Liang proposed, "Ma! Why don't we invite them for dinner tonight and talk about our marriage?" his shamelessness left Jinjing completely red faced. She did not know where she should look.
"tch, tch, tch.... how shameless…." Suddenly a new voice joined the conversation. Liang, Jinjing and Mother Sheng turned to the direction of the voice.
