"I need your help Meili!" sensing the urgency in her brother's tone, Meili decided to sacrifice her breakfast and finally put down her chopsticks.
She sat down on the couch like some mafia queen. Her back touching the back rest of the couch, legs crossed over each other, one hand leisurely placed on the arm rest while the other stayed still on the thigh.
"speak!" she was totally in the character.
Unfazed, Liang got down on his knees just like an obedient subordinate. "Meili! I want you to see this…. well as much as you can." The last bit he just murmured. Passing his cell phone to her with the video recording already open, he waited for her to press play.
A second into the video was enough to make the mafia queen loose her composure. She forgot about everything and lifted her feet onto the couch and sat cross legged. Her eyes were not only glued to the screen but they were on the verge of popping out from their socket.
Unlike what her brother assumed, Meili watched the video till the very end, with her interest piquing every second.
"woaahh man....!!!" she sat back lazily on the couch, dropping her hands to her side. "that was crazy….!!!!" Sitting up staright, she looked at her brother who was now seated beside her on the couch and was anxiously looking at her for her opinion.
"she is a damn 'teeeee'. I did not think she was such a 'teeee'". Meili self-censored her profane words.
"what are you going to do know?" she asked out of excitement. "that is exactly what I want to discuss with you." Said Liang.
"is she back in city B?" she inquired.
"what do you think? With all the hardwork she put in last night… would she already be here?" he sounded let down by his sister's useless question.
"anyway! This is going to help me break away from her permanently. Now I am just indecisive, as to who should I show this first to?" Liang contemplated.
"well I was first." Meili interrupted his train of thoughts.
A rather exasperated Liang turned to Meili and said "you are not helping. Do you want your bestie back or no...??"
Even though she was excited hearing about her bestie, "okay, okay! now serious mode on." Meili sat on her haunches and tucked her hair behind both her ears and put on a somber expression on her face.
"let the female lead have a look at the first cut." She suggested. Liang found it reasonable. With nothing to hide, he sent the video directly from his phone. Patiently waiting for the reply he relaxed on the couch and a smile graced his handsome face.
"where is the ruthless president Liang now? The only thing I can see is a love-struck dummy." Meili nudged at her brother.
As a sign of agreement, Liang sighed heavily. "in the matters of the heart, the brain stops functioning."
"yeah… can see that live." Meili commented sardonically.
Remembering about her bestie, she sprang up and sat facing her brother. "Is she back? Did you meet her? When can I meet her? Did she ask about me….?" she had endless questions to ask.
"I am going to whack the living hell out of her…. She dumped her best friend because of a dumb boyfriend." Meili said pressing her lips into a thin line and rolling up her nonexistent sleeves.
"hey!!!! I dare you to even lay a finger on my woman." A protective man stood up for his woman.
"ohh!!!! Betrayer…." Meili pretended to be hurt by his sharp words. "forgetting your sister for a girl…. noooo…." she wailed.
Bursting out into a loud laugh she side hugged her brother and said affectionately "I am so happy for you…. And for me as well."
"PING!!!" a notification sounded on Liang's phone. The siblings looked at each other in apprehension.
