Days turned to months and months turned into years. Finally, after 3 and a half excruciatingly painful and long years, Jinjing graduated. Without doubt, she scored brilliantly.
Jinjing had applied to universities abroad to pursue her master's degree. With her top score and amazing recommendations, she easily got into a well know university in county A.
Her parents could not have been more proud of her. Their daughter emerged as a winner out of her problems. She left everything behind and focused on her career. They never imagined, their delicate, petite and always protected daughter would be so strong.
The Lees spent some quality time in city S before Jinjing's departure.
At the dinner table, Papa Lee asked out of fatherly concern "Jinjing have you prepared everything? Check for your passport and forex once again." Jinjing smiled and hugged on to her fahter's arm saying "don't worry pa…. everything is done."
Hesitantly mama Lee said "Jinjing… would you visit city B before leaving?" she did not know what got over her. In all these years, they never once touched this topic, except for mama Lee once in a while informing Jinjing about Meili but, soon she stopped when she felt that it was only dragging Jinjing back.
"No!" came the prompt reply. Mama Lee bit her lips and said "I am sorry I don't know why…" interrupting her, Jinjing warmly smiled and held her hand across the table while saying "Ma! It is fine. I am good. Let's focus on the future." The family of three had their dinner in utmost bliss.
City B.
Four years since that incident, Liang completed his post graduate studies and now he was in total control of Sheng Corporation. Life had made him ruthless and domineering. The Liang in the past was aloof. But now, he was merciless, like a storm that blindly uprooted anything that came its way.
His business acumen, helped Sheng Corp. scale new heights. Mr. Sheng retreated to make way for the young blood. He stayed as the chairman of the Sheng empire but was less active than before. He preferred spending time with his wife.
Meili had graduated as well and would help with the family business along with pursuing further studies.
On the romantic front, Yun Luwei completed his studies and moved out of the country for his masters. Grasping the chance, Buzz made a bold moved and pursued Meili. Eventually, after running in circles around her for two good years, when he proposed to her last year, she accept him. Now, they were truly madly deeply in love with each other, well at least Buzz was.
This time around, doing things the right way, both the families got Meili and Buzz engaged. She missed her bestie till date and wished she was by her side during her best and worst times.
Well, as for Jiaying, the sole heiress of the Mu enterprise, she was not short of good proposals, but she stubbornly held onto Liang. To carve a way into his heart, she stayed by his side as his personal assistant, a post she begrudgingly took over from Papa Lee, who was now promoted as the Vice president of the company for his hard work and loyalty.
Country A, city N.
Jinjing decided to live in the dorms provided by the university. She arrived a week before the start of the course to settle in and overcome the jetlag.
During this week she familiarized herself with the campus and the neighboring areas. as the term started in September, the weather was very pleasant, more towards cold in city N. Like always, she was looking forward to the winters, she wanted to experience the festivities in the new country.
Soon it was the start of the course. Not wanting to be late on her first day, she hurried her way into the class, while still putting her stationery in her bag.
At the entrance of the class, she bumped into someone. She was in such a hurry, that she swiftly apologized without even looking at the person "uhmm I am sorry." and continued to go ahead. She stopped in her tracks on hearing her name "Jinjing!!! long time no see."
