Seeing a smiling Jinjing enter the class, the color from Jiaying's face drained and turned dark. Her hatred for Jinjing was visible from the way she was staring at her.
It is said that 'love is blind', must be true in Jinjing's case, because a Jinjing doused in love could only see pink bubbles around her, she felt as if she was floating on cloud nine. It was as if her mind had set up an automatic filter to her thoughts, not letting the negatives ones get in.
As she reached her desk, she hugged her desk mate, her bestie- Meili.
"so the love birds seemed to have reconciled." A genuinely elated Meili asked.
Jiaying who was sitting just ahead, was keenly listening to their conversation without turning around.
"yes! We have and we intend to stay that way." Jinjing replied without hesitation.
Meili shook her head and smiled looking at the expression on Jinjing's face, as if she was high on some love potion.
Yes, indeed she was and she just received a high dose of it before stepping out of the car.

It was almost the end of September, that means Jinjing's birthday was just a few days away. She would turn 18. She was only a few months younger than Meili.
At night, while drying her hair, Jinjing kept thinking what Liang would plan for her birthday, since it would be the first after they started seeing each.
She wonders whether he even knows that it's her birthday two days later. She swatted that thought out because she knew the power of Meili. She would have definitely informed her brother.
Done with her hair, she lay down on her bed, staring at the ceiling. Thinking about Liang and blushing at the thought of his feet popping kisses and flirty ways.
She never thought that the aloof looking Sheng Liang, the lone heir to the mighty Sheng empire would be such a pervert…
"heheheee" she giggled, turned the light off and fell asleep with a smile on her face, probably dreaming about lover boy.

The days to Jinjing's birthday passed by quickly, it was the eve of her birthday. She noticed that neither Meili nor Liang had brought up anything with regards to her birthday.
Every year, Meili would prepare her gift well in advance and would keep dropping hints till the actual day. But this year she did not even mention her gift or any plans. In fact, her behavior seemed as if she completely forgot about it.
Deciding not to act petty about it, Jinjing focused on the lecture.
After class, as usual Jinjing was to go home with Meili. Upon reaching the parking, she noticed that Liang's car was not there. She quickly scanned for Jiaying's car and heaved a sigh of relief when she saw her boarding her own car, that to sans Liang.
Curiosity killed the cat. Stepping in the car she asked "where did Liang go?"
"ahhh!!! Don't know, he just mentioned that dad called and he had to leave." Meili answered driving out of the campus.
A rather gloomy Jinjing was looking out of the window, counting trees and cars passing by, trying to take her mind of her birthday.
