Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A double threat

As both are about to leave the armoury, a siren blared, which warns the Modern Crusaders of a threat reaching the walls of New Lion City that was made from the walls of buildings that have collapsed. However, since it was a threat that has a height of a 5 story building, there was nothing that normal humans could do. So they leave the threat to the professionals and make their way back to their cubicle.

When most of the crusaders have already left the building and the community centre became dead silent and it was practically only the 2 of them left.

It was then reality hit John, they were the only 2 powerless in this branch of Crusaders.

"...", John fell silent for a while. Realising if another threat arrives, they would be killed.

Then, it happens, security cameras in the building sounded a threat has entered the building, leaving both stunned and unsure what to do. John looks through the 30 different cameras and witnessed the threat. It possessed the form of a human but was oozing out a black liquid and had a very tall stature, almost hitting the tall ceilings of the first level of the building.

John then recalled that he had compiled a list of discovered but not eliminated monsters. He clicked a file on his computer and saw that the monster was a large threat, killing a crusader on patrol and wounding 2 others, whilst managing to be unwounded. He tells Max this without telling him of the intelligence his holds and both shake in fear, realising it probably has a very keen sense of smell. Explaining why it managed to find the base of the Crusaders.

Understanding that this monster is very intelligent, it is clear that it also contains high levels of bloodlust, seeking strong combatants. This monster had to be extremely strong and they knew it was do or die. Further study of John's observation of this monster had shown it is capable of physical attacks and has a giant metal foundation inner wall as a hand and is immune to electricity, John managed to grab of a hold of this kind of observation from the 2 wounded crusaders that survived through over-hearing gossip. They needed to deal with this threat now before he kills us and brings down the whole office.

Before John continued his train of thought, Max says out of nowhere, "Goliath's Wrath."

"What?", John asks, baffled

"Its name man. Monsters gotta have an edgy name." Max says even though he knows how serious this issue was.

John despite weirded out, smirked and thought to himself that it was pretty cool.

They pulled themselves together and headed down. With John accepting his fate and Max shivering in fear.
