On the day of Anton's departure, Yanmei did not get any sleep at all. Anton prepared to leave at midnight to avoid alarming the enemies of their arrival.
Most of his things were already packed back at the base. It was Ha-joon's task to bring them to the airport. Still, he decided to spend a few hours with his family.
"I have to go, mine," said Anton. He was still lying in bed with his arm around his wife. He pecked on her forehead and repeated, "I need to leave."
Yanmei tightened her hold against her husband and sighed. "Mine, be careful. Please be careful."
"I will, don't worry - "
"How can you say that? How can I not worry when you are flying off to a war zone?" Yanmei asked back with a frown.
"Many things have changed in Afghanistan with the US troops slowly pulling back its forces. Peace talks have been made. Hopefully, the Taliban will not fire at us," he explained. "Moreover, their government has our support, including the US army."
