"I wasn't," said Yanmei. "I just felt it was the truth! If the Yeongs did not adopt you, we would not have met!"
"Hmmm." His only words.
She slapped him on the arm before trying to divert the topic, "How - how was it, growing up with your parents like that?"
Yanmei recalled how Anton did not want to be associated with his own biological father and so she had to ask.
"We lived like we were running every day, training to get stronger even as kids, moving from one house to another, but the problem was, my father was still connected to the government and still got commissioned for mercenary jobs, sometimes involving my mother - of course, he would be found out," he said.
"We did not necessarily live a hidden life."
"Many of the first founders of Project Zero already died, Yanmei but I suspect, their descendants are trying to bring it back, given the benefits that it gave their families more than two decades ago," he explained.
