Anton drove himself to the hospital, faster than his normal paced. He could not believe he failed to see the signs. He doubted his wife's words due to the silly milk. To think, days back, he was overly prepared.
When he arrived at Yanmei's private room, he saw his wife with a complete frown on her face. She was looking straight at the wall in front of her while breathing heavily and occasionally closing her eyes.
Yanmei did not bat an eye on her husband's arrival, just plainly trying to forget the pain she was feeling and concentrating on her breathing. Yeong Soon was sitting next to her, reminding Yanmei to relax. She said to Yanmei, "Remember, with the pain comes the joy of motherhood."
