"Mr. Carter, may I have a word with you?" Valerie approached Noah who was texting Ronnie and asked him politely.
"Sure, Deputy. What's wrong?" Noah noticed her serious expression and turned around, giving her his full attention.
"I wanted to enquire about the explosives. Have they been..."
"They have been dealt with, Deputy. Don't worry," Noah assured her with a smile. "Major Meyers has retrieved all of them."
"That's good. That's good. I can finally relax now."
"How's work? I hope your Chief isn't troubling you anymore." Noah looked at her mysteriously and Valerie's brows contorted into a thoughtful frown.
"How did you..." Valerie was stunned. How did the man know that her Chief was under investigation? Wait a minute! Did Noah have a hand in this matter?
"He is unworthy of the position of the Intelligence Chief. It's better he leaves." Noah smirked and nodded at her. "The first dance is about to begin, Deputy. Excuse me."
